Elite Games??? i remember the name yeah but not much else, Dev Kits ......you never know what some people might have and not know what it is which never a bad thing.
No its not that most of the stuff is a scam gumtree is a GREAT site. You just (like ebay and e-mail) have to watch out for the spam that makes it into the sites. The moderators do their best but its a very very easy site to advertise on! You dont have to register you can turn up post an advert stick your number on there and have people calling you 3-4 hours later. And thats where the problem starts... last week there were loads of spam from china on it and theres also a few scams with paypal and so on involved. All in all just buy when you can meet people and pay cash Its like a free online LOOT. They are now owned by ebay and i cant help but have nighmares about it closing down. Im kind of adicted to checking it too. One of the best deals i got was last year around april i got my 360 from the site. Someone posted he wanted to get rid of a two week old 360 with 3 games. Wanted something like £280 which was a bargain back then. I sent him a cheeky txt offering £200 as a joke. He came back at £220 and would bring it from the doclands to camden for me. Ended up paying £210 for it with 3 games, 2 sealed. Played tomb raider and ghost recon and sold them making a nice total of £150 for my xbox and ridge racer The console came boxed with a game receipt for £345 15 days before i got it!
Thanks for the heads up. Just signed up for Freecycle in my hometown. 56 members already in such a tiny town, how come I've never heard of this before? Start spreadin' the word! :icon_bigg
The KC one is full of crap. I've only seen a couple of good things and buy the time I see them they're gone or I can't make it to pick them up in time. The worst thing about any game related items has been the giver putting rules or restrictions on the items. Like, give a good reason you should get this stuff or someother BS. It should be first come first served IMO, none of this other crap people pull.
Around here, people don't tend to freecycle too many good systems and games, but if you put out a wanted broken consoles, you get a ton of systems that are an easy fix/ parts to fix another...
