Lamborghini for xbox I know was being developed by rage software, but I haven't heard many thoughts on what the game was like.

    Was the demo enjoyable?
What OXM issue was it from?
Is it compatible wiht Xbox 360?

Yup, i have several copies of it, it was on UK OXM disc 14

The demo is quite good, 1 single track, and 1 car to choose, not compatible with the 360

The full game was much better, i had the opportunity to play the (near) full game a few years back as a mate of mine's brother used to work for rage (not on Lamborghini however)

I wouldn't say it was an amazing racing game, but for its time the graphics were pretty polished, and the driving physics were pretty good as well

I do believe there are a few copies of the complete game floating about in collectors hands but i doubt it will ever get a public release

If you do want a copy of the OXM disc give me a shout and we can sort something out

The demo is relatively easy to dump, you likely saw that.

The "full" version has leaked out only as the Live Beta build. It can be dumped and patched but requires a bit more work to do so. I don't believe that's ever been seen in the wild as it were.

There are members on this board who have the Live Beta build and the Live Beta Xbox needed to run it.

Hmm I'm confused by your wording.

Are you saying that there is a leaked version in the wild (torrent sites), but it requires a special patch to make it playable on regular xboxes?

And this patch has yet to be released?

The full version has not been publically dumped, so no, you're not going to find it on torrent sites. Some collectors such as oldengineer (only mentioned since he already identified himself) have discs of the full version, so if you are on the hunt it's not impossible to track one down. The only thing is that the copies out there are signed with the Live Debug key which is different than the retail key or the standard debug key, so if you want the disc to run it's not as simple as tossing it into a standard box. You'll either need a Live Debug Xbox or have to patch the disc and reburn. If you want to do the patching you're doing it yourself. ;)

The demo has been released in both PAL and NTSC territories on the OXM demo discs. It's been dumped many times over so it's likely floating out there somewhere. If not, it's a trivial matter to dump the demo so anyone with one of the thousands of demo discs out there can make a copy.

Of course not, to make games work with the 360 they have to specially code the emulator so they wouldnt do it for a game that wasnt even released.

Actually it runs very nicely on a 360.

You mean the demo disc runs well on the 360?

    Or your full copy?

I did have the mag with the demo on it but sadly don't know where it could be now??? but the Lambourghini game looked and played like it could have been very good.

Graphics were good quality and the way the game played was equally very good, was definatly 110% worthy of the lambourghini liscence. I was hoping that another company would have taken on the game as i was rather looking forward to it but its a shame it never got pickled up after rage went.

Well hopefully someday someone will do a dump of it. It doesn't seem like the full copy was a one of a kind thing, and hopefully someone with a kind heart will eventually share it. (Oldengineer maybe :p ?)

But, sseriously I'd truly love to experience it, as Rage really shone through with Rocky and I was really looking forward to Lamborghini.

    Really on a regular 360?
That makes sense for the "retail" demo
But, how is that possible for the "full version"?

I thought a "Live Debug Xbox" was required.

Hmm that makes sense for the "full version"

But, why would the demo version (a retail version) only work on a non-retail unit. Doesn't Micosoft, wants its retail unitsto be as backwards compatible as possible?

The demo may well work on a Retail 360, I've never tried to be honest.

And 'yes' they do want compatability, but at a cost, not at a price. In other words if theres a profitable market then its worth developing an emulator to run a title.
