I think cabinets are a bit of a waste. I like the Japanese way of having the Egret/Astro City/etc and just popping the marquis in and out.

My big ass Dreamcast display pod is the closest thing I have to a real arcade machine, but now I have a huge conservatory, I can finally buy a cheap one and restore it, and have somewhere to use it.

I seriously have to get off my arse and get the rest of the bits for my "Tachi-Gun"

    I fortunately have 4 arcade machines~

    3 japanese sit down cabs:
    sega aerocity 27" (2)
    capcom q grand am 25"
    1 american standup
    capcom stand up deluxe 25"

conversions like crazy here and there, but was a very fun hobby of mine during my working days. especially the people I met, absolutely amazing..

My dad collects coin operated things. I collect video games. Sometimes our hobbies cross over.

Thoughtout my life, we've had pinballs, slots, arcrades and jukeboxes in our house. Mostly jukeboxes though. My dad is mostly into jukeboxes though...we have about six...I'll have to take some pictures one of these days and show you all...

We have had some arcade machines...

    Let me ramble em off

    A spaces invaders.

A DECO (Data East Corp) arcade system that played games off of tapes...it was really neat...we had...BurgerTime and some golf game.

    http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=D&game_id=7479

    It was really neat...

    What else have we had...
There was once a video pinball combo called "Granny and the Gators"

Edit: I forgot, we had a Tron arcade machine...

The last (and best) arcade cabinet we had was a standard Jamma Cabinet. We had MK1, MK2, and Street fighter 2. It came with MK2 in it...I quickly changed that back into street fighter, and put all of the Street Figther 2 overlays back in. It was beautiful...

But I have always wanted a Neo Geo...one day my dad sent me an email asking me what a six slot neo would be worth...and long story short...we were going to trade SF2 and a little bit of cash for a Neo Geo Six slot...you know...one of those badass Red Cabinets.

That is...until we found out that we couldn't fit it in our basement, and it would be damn near impossible to take it apart. So, we couldn't take it. But the people still wanted SF2....so they made a REALLY good cash offer...much more than it was worth...and as much as it pained me to no longer have an arcade machine, I told my dad to take it. He still owes me an MVS cabinet though.)

Edit Again: Recently we had a Bad Dudes Vs Dragon Ninja...but it was in mediocre condtion...and it had those convex buttons...which I hate...It's gone now though.

No cabs yet (someday...someday!), but I do collect arcade PCB's and play them on a home made Supergun.

Yeah, I collect cabs. I posted some pics in the pics thread.

I had to stop due to lack of space for the moment. I had to pass on one of my favourite games - Ninja Warriors :(

Zappenduster, I also passed on a 4 car Virtua Racer, and a 2 Car Daytona ;)

who needs 2 seat daytonas when you can get this:
oh and the pricetag hmm lets say a little too much $60000.00 USD

but this one would at least fit in a normal house =) and with $6205.36 USD its nearly a bargain against the 8 seat daytona 1

Yup, I could've got one of those, too ;)

Try having that shipped to Germany from the US, though :p And then you're going to have to change the PSU.

You can get a good generic for a hell of a lot less than £500. Hell, you can get a Neo Geo cab for less than £500!

    HOWEVER

You'd be lucky to get a Naomi cabinet for £500. They are usually more like £1000 for a nice, complete one.

looky here or for US peeps, here

Or maybe you'd rather have this beast!!!

I don't have a cab yet but I should be getting two soon! For now I have my nihilist homemade Supergun with some PCBs:

-Sega MegaTech (no JAMMA so no use)
    -Sega Model 2A + VF2 (idem)
-Sega ST-V Titan with 5 carts
    -Neo Geo MV-1FZ MVS
-Capcom CPS2 with Street Fighter Alpha

I've got one, Dynamo(brand of cab) SNK P.O.W. Nice rotatable monitor, only a minor issue to change control panels.

I got it fairly cheap for the time, considering the features, at $125, as his wife didn't like the sideart. :D Probably an even better price for it now.

I've got the following boards for it:
Aero Fighters (what I play most)
SNK P.O.W. with hi-res rom board
Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting (Has a bad RAM chip :( )
    Mortal Kombat
    Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja

I've also got a J-Pac and ArcadeVGA from ultimarc.com, so if I ever get a secondary PC going with a decent processor and AGP slot, I can turn it into a MAME cab as easily as I can change Jamma boards.
[IMG]No room for more cabs, unfortunately. The junk to the left has been removed and replaced with more interesting junk.

I had a Trident pinball machine once (you can barely see it in the above pic), that was missing all the nice expensive boards. Traded it for a Killer Instinct board, then the HD died on the KI board, and then sold the board on eBay.
