CO2 is consumable, CO, Sulfur, mercury, lead, PBC, and other toxins are not. Plants consume CO2, so as long as there are plants they should be ok, and since there is "more CO2 than normal" that means there is plenty of CO2 for plants to flourish. Then why all the hub-bub of CO2 emissions?
Probably because the number of trees, plants and fields are going down year by year and the amount of CO2 produced by industry, energy, cars, etc is going up year by year. If in the olde days rubbish produced by a small hamlet was collected by a earth moving vechile then today it would be a large town producing more rubbish and it's now collected by a small luton van. Another thing I've done to be green and eco friendly is to be veggie and decided not to have any screaming crying little brats.
you should all check the numbers of trees especially grown for paper. I was reading somewhere that thanks to the paper industry , trees are on an all-time-high (no pun intended), and so is the oxygen that they produce.
The majority of the vegetation climatising the world is in South America though. A large proportion of that is gone and more is vanishing each year.
I don't think it helps to chop down vast areas of dense vegetation such as jungle in the tropical areas of the world, only for us to plant conifer trees for pulping at a later date in the north. The equator used to be considered the lungs of the world, and it now appears to be a bit like some disease has set in! Also, in reality it's hardly likely that any of the animals, birds, insects or vegetation displaced, burnt or destroyed will ever be recovered.
A lot of trees used for paper making are quick growing evergreens and are quite acidic and cause no end of problems for wildlife as well as other plants nearby which can be damaged by the large amount of acidity in the soil. Plus they are still chopping down rainforest an area about the size of half of wales.
