Similar to Cahaz's Warcraft 3 thread, is anyone into Dawn of War?

I've got Warcraft 3 and its expansions, but I haven't even installed it yet. I'm more of a Dawn of War person, myself, and all I do is mod the crap out of it and play with new "mod" races.

Here is a pic of me "Zerg" rushing with some Tyranids in the Tyranid mod.

And a pic of them shooting acidic GRAPE JELLY at the enemy.

...And (I hope this goes without saying by now) FYI, these are NOT Zerg nor are they Zerg ripoffs.

The next few mods I'm REALLY looking forward to are the Daemonhunter mods. The Witch Hunter one is cool, but the mod team is taking AGES. I know, I know, its free, etc, but its almost like the Duke Nukem Forever of the DoW modding community, if you catch my drift.

Daemonhunter mod looks AWESOME. These guys are really really talented, and they even have a trailer out which looked like it was made by a professional.

There also is the Titan mod, which is good for actually having fun, than balancing everything out. Titans are basically these really huge mech things. To make them seem bigger, most other units must be shrunk, but those things already are bigger than the biggest units by a mile.

Anyways, I don't really play online, and if I did, I'd probably use Hamachi anyway. I don't really know how good I would be online, but I figure I'd die a whole lot. Just posting this because I love this game a whole lot. I never did play Mark of Chaos, either, but it doesn't look as appealing to me.

On a semi-related note, I was thinking of buying some WH and WH40k minis now that I have a good source of income. I'm not going to spend $9000 on a finely tuned army or anything, just gonna buy some stuff that would look cool and paint it and etc. I probably couldn't find another person to play WH with anyway in such a small town anyways.

Lastly, there is one more thing I want to say. The Bloodthirster is awesome. :icon_bigg

How small is your town ? meaning I know my town is small in size (almost an exact square kilometre in an almost square figure) , but still there lives 13.000 people here, and we call this a "village" so if I was into WH or WH40K (well I think the figures are great). Then I could probably find another person to play WH or WH40K in town. So perhaps put up an ad, somewhere.

Well, 7000 people live here, and I doubt really anyone here of even knows of Warhammer 40k. Sure, we got the games in the stores here, but not the TableTop stuff. I don't think I'd enjoy playing the TT game anyway, since I hear it costs an arm and a leg.

Well I enjoy a good game of DoW every now and then, but I'm not very good and I've never really explored the mods at all. Where is a good place to start?

Most mods I use are actually team color or skin edits, however, I have gotten the Titan and Tyranid mods to work simultaneously, with a ton of tweaking.

Anyways, I really don't like editing with or changing around stats on characters. Mainly just adding new races is fine with me.

Also, I THINK the Tyranid, Daemonhunter, and Witch Hunter mods are getting *OFFICIAL* online support for online games, but don't quote me on that. Witch Hunters is pretty high profile, so its a big maybe at least.

The place I get most of my Mods from are DoWfiles.com and the Relic Forums.
