No, this isn't a spam, I am in Europe and discovered the amazing Hulu.com site a while back and have patiently waited for information on when they'll launch a European version of the site.

Anyone here had any "genuine" information about when it is launching outside of USA?

Anyone know of any current sites in Europe providing as good a service as Hulu?

Hulu is pretty much a USA only option as they don't have international licensing rights.

It's similar to how the BBC online shows are only available to those within the UK.

Now, if you're the creative sort and can get yourself a US proxy server setup with a sufficient amount of bandwidth then you can use Hulu.com anywhere. Like most of these services, it checks to see who owns the requesting IP and if it is within a block registered to a US-based ISP. So long as it is, Hulu will work. The service won't know if you have the requesting machine further bouncing those packets onward to another destination. ;)

I love hulu... I've been using as my main way of watching TV shows, and going all nostalgia-happy with some of the older shows they have (Sliders). It was the only way I watched Dollhouse.

As for when its opening up to the rest of the world, I haven't the slightest. The last I heard is the studios that own the rights to the shows in the US don't own the rights to them for the rest of the world and so its really up to the rights holders in the rest of the world.

I could be horribly wrong though...

Thanks folks. I thought about using a proxy, but I am more interested in a service geared towards the European market tbh, which is why I posted the query in the way I did rather than ask how I could watch the existing Hulu.com.

When I initially visited the site it immediately popped a window that asked for my email address and region. This was a while back, but it seemed to suggest that they were working on obtaining licensing rights from content providers and would indeed be launching something in Europe, however not a word has arrived since. I cannot find anything with suggested timelines on this one.

I'd love to see some older European TV shows. Again, I'd heard whisper that the BBC and ITV were working on a joint venture, however that was long ago and subsequently they both released their own sites (notably iPlayer), which made me think they'd dropped the proposal.

I've hacked my Apple TV and a European Hulu is exactly what is required!

I've been on Hulu for probably a year. It's good for watching new shows. It's a joint venture between a few different media companies to give free content. Hopefully it will continue in the future.

I use proxy software that I bought and it works with it. It doesn't work with ABC.com (no LOST!). The movie section is a bit lacking but it's nice to be able to see new Simpsons, SNL, and The Office without having to download....

With potentially only a month to go you'd imagine they'd be singing and dancing about it - wonder if it's been delayed? Not heard or read anything about it anywhere.

I generally hate TV and watch less than an hour per week as British TV is seriously becoming garbage. So selecting content is fantastic. I didn't have the time to watch "Psychoville" whilst it was being broadcast, but caught up with it online. There are a few old shows I'd like to see again such as "Black Books".

I just installed it but crashes while starting, in both Windows 7 (64-bit) and XP (32-bit). Some kind of bug maybe?

I would gladly give you an invitation mate, but I recently spent all my current three... Remind me in about 70 days :)

TVTorrents is great though... I've accumulated around 300 GB of credits and now I can download tons of stuff, I've watched around 30 tv shows completely so far :D
