I have quite a few home movies from over the years. I am wanting to make a DVD with these on them. However I would like to make each movie a seperate chapter complete with navigation menus and all the bells and whistles.

Does anyone know of any software that can do this EASILY and SIMPLY. I have programs like Adobe Premier which I use for simple editing of clips but as for making menus and chapters and all that I would like something easy to learn and use so I can teach family members to use it as well.

Please let me know if you are familier with any such software

I use Nero, works well enough. You can set chapters or have it auto detect them for you, download templates for menus, you can have video menus with music, etc. Very easy to use, with a simple wizard where you just follow the steps.

I normally use Sony Vegas with DVD Architect for my dumb creations, but it's as hard to learn and use as Premier. Maybe Nero can be the right choice since it's really easy to use and it comes with almost every DVD writer, so you probably won't have to pay for it :D

I used to use one called TMPEGenc, not sure if it is still going, but was good a couple of years ago, there was also a Ulead product that was pretty good and you could do all sorts of fancy menus, effect and even add pseudo 5.1 surround to it, pretty sure you can get a 30 day trial off the website to try it out with

I second the Nero suite. But only because it came free with my machine. It does the job though.

I had Nero but it kept prompting me for money so I uninstalled it.

Thanks for the tips guys. A couple of my family members who are interested bought walmart PC's lol so I will check their pre-installed software and look for Nero.

Yep, Nero for me as well. Very easy to use like others have said plus you can make some great looking DVd menus. You can even have video in the background of the menu screen. My only bad point is that you can't (or at least I don't know how to) make menu screens blend in to each other using video files like you'd get on a retail DVD.
