just spotted this on yahoo japan. anyone know what this game is and if it was released http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g30403057
HOLY SHIIIIT rayer: Never seen that game ever. I have seen a few unreleased N64 protos on YJ such as doubutsu banchou & echo delta but this one i have never seen. No way im shelling out 50,000 yen to find out. Cool find though, oh & welcome to the boards :smt023
To bid or not to bid... hopefully the guy won't sell it and will go down in price. $200 and it's mine
Heh, it would be funny to see someone win the auction and think they are getting this kickass unreleased game, but get a crappy mahjong game instead. Sure, N64 Unrelease Proto's are pretty rare, but what is a price on crappyness?
It's called Okawachi something-5. The translation is pretty bad, as usual, but it almost doesn't seem like a mah-jong game - maybe a life-sim type of thing? Then again, the translation could have just killed the symbols for mah-jong, too. Hey Importaku, did you happen to get any pictures of the Doubutsu Banchou proto when you saw it? I remember seeing Echo Delta up a while back, and while I thought I grabbed pictures just for the heck of it, it appears this wasn't the case. :smt009 I dunno - what did that guy in the other thread pay for the Flintstones DC game again? :smt043
$800 bucks. Rather shoot myself in the foot and have genetal herpes then pay THAT much for a crappy unreleased game.
I think the title is closer to: Ookouchi Minamoto Go Rou Ichi Ie/uchi, best not to translate it since it'd require a native speaker to recognize any nuances in the title. If you translate it literally, it's Ookouchi - Source (5 Sons)/(plural males) one house. I'm too lazy to even attempt reading the caption but from the pics, it looks like a text adventure game, not a mahjong.
Sadly no i didn't grab any pictures. I really wish i had done as it's the only one i have ever seen on yahoo auctions. If i remember from the auction it was on a long dev cart like the one in this auction. The seller also posted pics from the game & it looked excellent.
Good luck waiting for the price to come down. To quote in his description: It's not a mahjong game. Looks more like a sim game. You play an elementary student w/ 5-yen per day allowance to live on, and go from there. I've gotten in bidding wars w/ this guy before... and he's won a few of my auctions. Namely a box of flyers I sold b/c I had no space at the time, and have regretted ever since. The guy has good taste, obviously.
Maybe he wouldn't mind getting it dumped for a little cash since he wants to sell it. I think the price is actually reasonable since it's unreleased plus it's on a nice Partner cart.
Partner cart? Its just a normal n64 flash cart. Has anyone heard of this game before? Who was developing it? Shiggsy
Aren't all of the flash carts a part of the Parnet set? or is Partner BRAM? Anyways it's good. It doesn't say the developer, just "Press Start Button"
The Partner-N64 uses a RAM cartridge. It was a while ago since I opened one so I cant remember exactly...but I think it is EDO. Shiggsy
Yeah, that's about what the translation said, though I wan't sure how accurate it was. Does anyone know why it is that unreleased N64 games are so relatively common? They seem to trade hands reasonably frequently (at least, for unreleased games) on Yahoo Japan, and it seems to me like new N64 stuff turns up more commonly than even Dreamcast games.
Delta Echo was up for grabs back in the summer. It finished around 66,000 yen. I've never heard of this game, and I compiled my unreleased lists from a couple of sources... neither of which had them. I might dig around later, but anyone can pump it into Google-J and find the same thing.
