Origin is a joke, especially with the Battlefield 3 beta. You have to launch ORIGIN, then LAUNCH BF3 , and THEN LAUNCH A WEB BROWSER, AND THEN FIND A SERVER THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET INTO WITHOUT It randomly timing out, having a generic error or once you get in having it randomly crash/disconnect/poor performance and unresponsive controls and interface. EA and Dice really dropped the ball on this one. Even with new Drivers it performs like crap even people with 580's are reporting poor performance. I remember the Crysis 2 Demo/Launch(something a lot call "terrible") wasn't nearly as bad as this. And as someone who played Crysis 2 MP from Demo until patch 1.8/9(and was within the top 1500 players) when they completely ruined and broke the MP. That was a far better experience even in the demo.
^^^ This, I seriously don't see the point of Origin.. Obviously they were so proud of the application they wanted to force users to use it. It remind me of Steam, and we all know how much ass that thing sucked. Besides, the servers time out so much for me it's sometimes not even worth the wait time. These are Australian servers I've tried to join and they still time out. I know this in BETA, and we should all really give this a chance.. It looks like EA and DICE didn't expect this much of an audience. If it's free, people will play it to death until it's out.
The fact that it's "Beta" and this bad at this point isn't impressing me. I'm sure the singleplayer will be worth playing and will be fun/gorgeous. But i'm still weary on MP at this point. I'm trying to give it a good chance and not condemn it yet.
Pfft. EA/DICE dropped the ball back with Battlefield Vietnam and continued the trend with the "red bug" in BF2 which was never (completely) patched. Whats that? $20 worth of DLC EA made for free into a patch? FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU I don't have Live Gold or Windows 7 installed on this box so I'm SOL.
Ive had the 360 beta, and considering this game comes out within a month....I am not AT ALL impressed... It feels like a true beta rather than the "network test we are calling a beta" that it is.
Just been on the 360 beta and I'm not too impressed either, apart from the fact that any hit kills you (no possible chance to evade) and ignoring the long respawn times and bad respawn points, the game just isn't good....at all!!
