It's a Platinum Collection title here in Japan so I was thinking about picking it up. I've played the demo and I've read a couple of reviews but I want to know if there's any mode where you can just run around and kill things endlessly. I'm not interested in time sensitive missions, I just want to have some fun and explore the different things to use and not worry about getting from point A to point B. For me it's a deal breaker if I can't do that...
You can ignore the time-based missions and the game will continue. You'll get 3 in-game days of fun in the mall
Haha agreed  After I did the game once I spent the next time round having some fun in the mall also
The game kicks ass, I've been playing it for hours nightly. You level up and stuff too. What I've been doing is leveling up, playing till I die, repeat until I can breeze through the games main mode quickly and easily. It's also fun to fuck around.
There is "Infinity Mode", but its even more time based. It is basically a survival mode, where your health drains over time and you gotta fight to find food and such to continue playing. Fun, but not quite what he is looking for I imagine.
Dead Rising is a MUST PLAY game. Its by Capcom for goodness sake... The time was a big problem for me when it first came out (before I bought it) but its not actually a big deal at all. You only have to adheare to the time stuff if you want to beat all the missions and see the diffrent characters and stuff. By beating the game multiple times and things like that you can unlock loads of extra outfits and weapons and things like that. I HIGHLY recommend you play lol.
Perhaps you are refering also to a Glitch method in the game? If you survive X amount of time in the first area (before the Welding Cutscene) with X being the time it takes for the game to want to trigger the Cutscene involving an anti-zombie weapon (no spoilers here) then when you leave the first area you glitch the game up and....then I forget if it changes anything different to what running out of time does
Yeah, I'm getting really pissed at it right now because of the Isabella boss on the motorcycle, I've cussed a huge amount of cusses.
Well I went to the shop yesterday to pick it up and they jacked the price up to $40. When I saw it a few days ago they had a used one for $25 and a new one for $29 which is what the Platinum Collection price is supposed to be. Looks like they sold the used one and raised the price on the new one. $10 isn't a million but it pissed me off that they would do that. I'm not going to encourage them to sell Platinum titles over face value by buying it. I passed on the game and got a used copy of Battfield 2 for $20 instead.
Best way to deal with her is to stay close to the grocery store and jump on the trash bins near the right side of the doors. Then just pick her off when she stops to fire. As long as you have some juice and a few handguns (or better) you'll be fine.
Well, I found out what it was. I was doing that, and was beating her before the time ran out. I kept throwing swords at her too lol. I looked it up and apparently it's a glitch where no matter what, sometimes the game will just abruptly end even if you beat her. I beat her like 4 times with time to spare and she just kept riding off. So I had to restart, but no biggie.
Battlefield is OK, nothing special. I was looking for arcade type action and that's what it is. Nothing too heavy. I play GRAW sometimes and didn't want anything too technical or complex and Battfield 2 is decent for that urge. The enemy pops up in designated areas each time you play a level so there aren't any surprises. The AI is pretty bad in some spots, tho. If you touch a moving tank or vehicle you automatically die, and I've watched quite a few of my men die needlessly because of that. Sometimes the men just walk right into the tank and then keel over. Looks pretty bad...heh.
Rofl, like in Halo where someone touches a warthog and goes OH GOD and dies. Dead Rising has really bad AI on the surviviors your suppose to rescue, yesterday we watched one just run in place into a tree for like 5 minutes.
