I think Evangelion is referring to XerdoPwerko...Xerdo sounds a lot like "Cerdo," the spanish word for pig...and Pwerko...well, that reminds me of pork. I think when he said, "Don't you see hes nick" he meant "Don't you see his nick."
hmmm as i think xerdopwerko is one cool guy and of what i would call him , if i ever met him would be his name since i would not be one who would like to call him piggy porker. since cerdo = pig and pwerko = pork.
(Sorry for the lack of presence here - but I've been out of town because of some family matter). Anyway, yeah, it comes from Cerdo (Pig) and Puerco (Pork) - and most of my friends do call me Xerdo. Hell, my girlfriend calls me Xerdo. In public, too. Which of course causes very funny looks from people. It owns. My students call me Hector, generally (yeah, that's my boring name...). I'm not at all used to be called "Mr. Ortiz", and probably never will. Yakumo: I wore my pink shirt to work this friday. I have like three different pink shirts, but I only have one "designer" shirt which I got from an aunt. It rocks when you fail people and wear pink while doing it. When I was teaching at a small college nearby, I gave all the failing grades with my pink/glitter gel pen. I was dreaded and feared, but nobody in my class failed the semester. Wolvie: Thanks for the support. Looking forward to meeting you, mate. If' you're ever in Mexico, give me a call. Antipasta: I might have failed the geek test... but I did it in style! He he.
"and in the pink corner who will challenge Evangelion-01 Hector Oooortis" (got the inspiration from Tito Ortis in UFC) to Eva not an offence since i just got the inspiration

phew... i thought this topic would never get back on track thanks for the infos, starwolf! i don't have the time to read it all right now, but as soon as i can, i will.
" They used it to run a section of the ANTZ movie " Again, that isn't possible... Again a trick to fuck all sheeps. Just imagine one second, one frame of ANTZ movie certainely requires more than 200MB of raw polygon/temp/texture data... Top of that, they are lights rendering, reflexion, shadowing... Strictly impossible to move all the stuff in real time (even 20 computers @ 3ghz should process this @ 0.01 fps).
200mb isnt that much i think it would be possible but it all depends on which scene you choose to show of and in which resolution other thing is the 3d movies dont get rendered the frame at once its done in layers so maybe they just left out some layers who knows...
I've worked on 3D animation before. Lightwave, at least, does some sort of "multi-threading" with different areas of each rendered frame. I can testify that some frames with quite less than 200MB data did take the computers, even some with dual processors, minutes to render. I used celshading, though, and that's efficient as hell.
like i said it depends very much on the scene i had scenes in lw that did render in 1-10secs per frame on dual cpu machines and then i had scenes which did crunch for 3 hours on a single frame without knowing ecactly what they rendered its useless to discuss the theme on the other site this thing would rule for seti@home =)
btw. on the realtime rendering found some nice details on that so i guess maybe only the prototype was build and some study systems so a number 5-10 would come into my mind =)
yeah in 2009 when ms launches xbox 4 and sony cant compete cause they put too much money in the psp 3 (who could think a portable console with a 20" lcd wouldnt be a hit at 2500$) they go bancrupt and whit a lot of 600 PS4 TOOL and 800 PS 4 TEST consoles also 2 ancient GSCube get sold for 60.000 $ US...
