Not seen it but I am assuming (go on and flame me :) ) that it would be similar(ish) to Lock Stock IMHO Guy Ritchie makes to many of the same type of film (even though he didn`t make this one) in the same way that Hugh Grant makes the same time of films (foppy english twat)......so seen one seen them all

    Mini moan over :)

funny, guy ritchie was suppose to do it but couldnt do it so his producer did it with the guy who wrote the book, and of course ended the movie earlier then when the book ends, and in the book they dont reveal his name, though the guy is writiing another book, so there might be a sequal, but this movie is mostly serious, as for not hearing about it, im not shocked, it came out in theatres awhile back and i happen to run across the trailer for it on the kung fu hustle dvd, but i must say quite good, his producer took a slightly diferent approach and this one was done more serious on purpose as he didnt want to make another lock stock 2 smokinhg barrles as guy ritchie did with snatch, so this is its own thing, but if you like britihs gangster films or guy ritchie ones this is a must.
