This Tekken stuff is pretty boring to watch and everyone only uses the same two characters, though. I'm waiting for MvC3 if I can stay awake, watched yesterday and it's hypnotic to watch really good players (or at least way better than me). http://www.ustream.tv/evo2011
The players bring their own controllers, no idea why they weren't using sticks. Now they're showing Tekken Tag Tournament 2, I'm still waiting for the more interesting games.
Evo was very good this year, two of the big gaming titans Justin Wong and Diago were beaten by new talent. Part of the fun of watching Evo is what kind of controller is everyone using. You'll see tons of tournement edition MadCatz sticks and HORIs occasionally. Its rare to see "pad" players, those who play with regular game controllers. The finalists in the MK tournement were all pad players. Diago was using an unreleased Capcom x Tekken fightstick. It is odd that they don't make the controllers standard for everyone. I guess its a leftover from the small gatherings evo used to be where it was far more casual.
I concur, was definitely a sweet Evo to watch, Looked like a huge gathering! + Was surprised to see Latif beat Daigo and Pongko then go on to lose the final. That Seth was fucking incredible! (as in character, not Killian.)
Highlight for me was dash up ultra by Shiros Makoto. Watching Poongko blow up Daigo was amazing as well.
