Normally I don't try to request stuff like this too often, but having spent a hefty sum on getting the maraccas, I decided to make a request in this case.

I was just wondering if anyone would be willing to attempt a translation of samba de amigo 2000. Mainly replacing the menu's with english ones and then releasing a patch.

I know a good deal of the menus have been translated over at gamefaqs so this wouldn't be that hard I don't think. Plus, perhaps a good deal of the menu buttons could be copy and pasted from the original game.

Would anyone be willing to undertake this ?
I know it can be done, as someone is doing a translation of SegaGaga.

Just for good measure I'll throw paypal the guy who does it, $15. I know thats a measly sum. But, hey I'm sure its a worthwhile project this is just something extra.

The best way is to just play the orig version in English, then you'll know exactly how to navigate. This game is easy to play even if you don't know how to read Japanese.

I of course have played through the original in english.. However, my thrist for more songs and more SdA has increased. This is why i'm turning to the "sequel"/version with more features

I actually have all the downloadable songs on my VMU but since I can not read Japanese believe my copy of the game is still wrapped. Always wanted to play also don't have maracas but it looked fun maybe some day..
As for a patch or translation youd probably need a dev system to recode parts of the game but while your at it mine as well just change the regio coding to play it on an NTSC/Pal console

btw is $60 a good deal for the maracas?

Once you've made (or downloaded) a backup of a Dreamcast game, and make it into a selfbootable disc.... then the region doesnt matter. But this game doesnt really need a translation, offcource it's nice to have translated version. But all the menu items are almost identical to the US/EU version. So once you played SDA you will know how to navigate in v.2000

If you can get them for $60 take them!!

But, of coure shipping the weird shaped box is expensive.

I paid around $110 for mine.

I basically just want the menu translated for not only for my sake. But, because Samba de Amigo has become a friend and family game, meaning I often show it to people who happen to come over. Most a non-gamers, so having a english menu would mean alot to me. As alot of my family are already "intimidated" by gaming.

I may go buy them its a matter of getting up there and hoping that they work and I might also pickup a copy of the original. I wonder would you need a dc dev console to manipulate the code or is there a way to do it without a console and just the sdk for a computer because then its just a matter of time but its possible
