anyones still doing the Sega Nomad LCD and Battery mods?

Well as the title says, I know a while back that quite a few people were doing mods on Sega Nomads for around $80 USD total. Basically you would send in your Sega Nomad along with a dead nicad nomad battery pack and they would replace the LCD with a modern screen and put lithium ion battery packs in place of the old nicad batties. Is anyone still doing this? Any references for someone reliable?

 

Hmmm, I just did mine a few weeks ago. Neither mod is difficult but if you still prefer someone else to do it, I would check the benheck or bacteria forums. Not really sure if I would have time myself with all the other stuff I am working on but if no one at either of those places is willing, I might be willing if you already have the replacement battery and LCD. I wouldn't charge as much, obviously. The hardest part would be getting a proper replacement LCD. I managed to get one that works ok except for a small defect in the screen that I didn't notice while testing.

In fact, I bet if you went ahead and got all the necessary supplies together, you'd have an easier time finding someone to do it.

Ah I remember lugging around a sealed lead acid battery to get a good days worth of playing on the Nomad.
