Hi, guys. We need to create a defintive guide on how to buy CDs and DVDs. Let's use this thread to collect info about current media brands and manufacturers. I'll keep this first post updated. From what I know (I'm slowly returning to this), Taiyo Yuden has a second-grade media (not really, just different quality control, and the first-grade get better quality as they discard more discs). They also united with JVC to create the JVC Advanced Media, while still selling their "That's" line. People will always say that the "That's" brand is second-grade. But, as my research goes on, JVC TaiyoYuden also has lower-quality media (Depending wether they are inkjet print-ready or thermal lacquer). Also, it was announced that Taiyo Yuden bailing out of the blank media business. src: http://www.t-yuden.com/news/Pid=192_detail.html My perception is: Verbatim AZO, Imation and sometimes JVC Taiyo Yuden are the most reliable brands out there. On your experience, what's the most reliable blank media today?
