Ok guys & gals for the last 5 years i've been visiting japan and staying usually 2-3 weeks max (due to work constraints), but this summer i'm being made redundant (nice fat payoff) and wont need to be in so much of a hurry to return. So the plan is to visit for 4-6 weeks in the autumn, spending the first few weeks travelling around and then base myself out of tokyo for a month. So i've been looking into renting an apartment for a month and would like peoples suggestions... I've been looking at sakura house and oak house mainly as there cheap and include everything in one price, but i find lots of good and bad reviews on their buildings, so i would like some reviews, as i guess some of the members here havce probably used them at some point in the past. so anyone who has used them comment on the buidings / service / management etc.
Sakura house, get one other person and split it. You won't be in the apartment for most of the day so who cares if it's a bit dumpy? Remember you can only stay 90 days per 12 months. You should stay the max if you are at a life transition, because once you get back and need to find a job and work it may be 5+ years before you can go back again if the EU economy takes a shit.
If you can afford about 1200 a month, there are some furnished units with internet, washer/dryer etc near Akiba.
To be honest i don't really want to be too central, i'm looking more north towards saitama. Based on what i've seen so far i'm looking at around 100 - 110k for the month total, and not being central should mean i will have some choice when the time comes.
