APF Imagination Machine(s)

Wow! Nice one! Never even heard of the APF Imagination Machine II! Are you going to retr0brite this or not?

 

Yes, I'll start with one of the APF IM-1

 

I wouldn't - especially not the II. It'll just yellow again and there's a chance of causing damage.

 

Please don't retrobrite the only known imagination machine II in the world. Retrobrite is not conservation, it's damaging plastic in order to appear nicer.

 

Yes, I read about the risk of weakening the plastics and yellowing could come back after some time. I wasn't sure about doing it on the IM-2 but you just convinced me not to
Thing is the plastics may become more brittle with time so I need to resort to some other solution to preserve it, especially in a place like Thailand.

My experience with retrobright have been successful using just 3% hydrogen peroxide but indeed, only time will tell if it's a viable solution in the long run.

Hard to find some time for these babies but I'll try to update the thread with some pics soon.
