This is a discussion thread for the Apple Pippin platform and the Apple Bandai Pippin @Mark and @world, as well as the Katz Media Pippin KMP 2000. This thread is also for Pippin game and software discussion. This thread is not a thread for buying and selling Pippin hardware.

 

What is there to discuss exaxtly?

 

Games and hardware. What is the best PiPPᴉN game, maybe even PiPPᴉN homebrew.

 

Just a hint, you might want to use the "non-fancy" spelling so people can find this thread later. Here, lemme help: "Pippin". Now it'll come up in a forum search!

 

Apple always referred to it as the Pippin - the logo may have been styled like that, but it was never written like that in literature (e.g. the manual).

You're welcome to start a discussion on the machine, but if you're going to to do, actually start the discussion yourself - don't just create a placeholder and tell others to start talking about it. Likewise, please don't tell people what to do if they're looking to buy - we have a Marketplace where you might find a Pippin for sale, and users are welcome to post a WTB.

 

Super Marathon is the only game of worth on the system. Speaking of which, someone PLEASE hit me up if you know where I could get a copy

Wasnt Pippin just a Mac running MacOS 7.5 with some modified libraries?

Yes. Pretty much a Performa/Power Mac 5/6200 as a console.

 

I thought I might just bump this old thread to let you guys know I managed to secure a sealed Super Marathon that should be arriving shortly, and I'll be posting pics here.

So if it use mac os 7 i can play mac os game but how?

 

It can only play special pippinized software, unless you have a dev unit. A PPC mac of the era can run pippin games though.

 

PIPPIN use lite System 7.5.X software,
final if you want build the Mac work on all pippin game
1 . format 1 HDD,
2 . copy pippin game inside system folder to HDD
3. get 7.6 / 7.6.1 disk image or CD ( make sure it a retail ver , not come with computer one)
4. run the setup, select custom , and click universal

after finish, open Control Panel select boot disk , done
than buy S-VIDEO cable mod pippin joypad become ADB ,so you can enjoy like high speed pippin

btw, got G3 come with 8.0/8.6 it will good , no need do more

 

If I am correct, you can just put in a PIPPIN cd into any ol PPC macintosh. But I am not sure.
