can't seem to find any on eBay...
does anyone know the approx value on boxed N64DD?

someone asked me whether I'd be interested in for $390 plus shipping...
I'm not sure whether I should take that offer... coz $420-440 inc shipping is a lot of money... :-(

    TIA

The price seems reasonable to me...

Depends on what condition it is in I guess...

    Any games included with that?

from what I was told it's basically brand new never used in its original box and he can throw in shop demo Toshin(?) disc...

hmm... think I'm going to take his offer before he changes his mind...
at least I should be able to recover that amount on eBay if I decided not to keep it...

    cheers

p.s. crazy thing is I don't even have N64... guess I will have to pick up used JPN one... I think N64DD will only work with JPN N64 console?

a resonable deal if it is new condition, Iv seen them go on ebay for $500. Good luck with the purchase :smt023

  6. That shop demo should be Doshin the Giant - it was actually released as a Gamecube game in Europe (possibly all PAL territories?) and is sortof a kinder gentler version of Black & White. It is also in fact my one and only 64DD game - did I mention I don't have the console? :smt043

As far as I know, the 64DD should work on a US N64 - the only difference between a US and JP unit are the little lockout tabs inside. If you can do something about those, you should be just fine.

And while $390 plus shipping is not, in my eyes, worth it for a 64DD set, it is sadly a decent price on the inflated market. I'd say if you really want one and can spare the cash, go for it. Either that or lurk around on eBay for a better deal or wait for the market to realize the things aren't nearly as rare as they are made out to be. Randnet packs are another story, but there were over 16,000 of the individual 64DDs made - not super-common, but not as screamingly rare as $400 a pop.

after discussing it looks like I'm getting all these...

    64DD unit
    Randnet modem
    A modular cable
    4MB expansion
    Randnet member disk
    Doshin the Giant 1
    F-Zero X Expansion Kit
    Sim City 64
Mario Artist: Talent Studio with the Capture Cartridge
Mario Artist: Paint Studio with the Nintendo Mouse
    Mario Artist: Polygon Studio
*all boxed and new although I'm not sure whether he meant brand sealed new or not

Doshin the Giant 1 Shop Demo disc
    *disc only

    hope these are worth it...

now could someone confirm that JPN N64DD can do work with US or PAL N64? or I need JPN N64?

    cheers

All that for approx. £200? Damn fine deal.

EDIT: or is that in AU? If it is that's about £150... what are you waiting for?

    yep!
deal's done already... did pay extra $80 though and I still need to find out the shipping fee when she receive the items from him...

    now I need N64...
I wonder how expensive those N64 in smoke black shell?

expect to see thier photo under my collection some time this year as I have no plan to ship them to me just yet till I find suitable N64 (probably smoke black) for it and then ship them all together to me...

p.s. all in USD. I use A$ for AUD and $ for USD which is convention we use...

p.p.s. I take Randnet stuff is rather expensive or just rare? :-(

Gentler? I don't call pissing hearts on stuff gentle :smt043
    (or is that Doshin 2?)

  14. That's Doshin 2. :smt043

And DJ898, I know the smoke black N64 unit was released in the US, and while one of the more uncommon US ones, it can be found easily in the neighborhood of $40 or so on eBay. The smoke black JP one, however, was a Randnet special edition, and they're a bit harder to find outside of a set.

Yep, but on the negative side you then have an exposed cartridge slot.
