    Hey gang,

So from what I understand, there are various models of arcade cabinets. Some are upright, sit-down, or even in pedestal format. I haven't had any experience with any of these, but I have tried playing some games using a table, arcade stick and a monitor on top.

From what I noticed, when playing on carpet the table tends to shake a lot. Enough that the monitor sitting on top wobbles as you use the joystick. I figure this might have something to do with the monitor not being secured to the table (Via proper mounting or something), but I'm not sure. My thought is, even if it was properly mounted, it would just move with the table, but have less of a wobble after-shock? :)

Does anyone own an arcade setup that's on carpet? Do you notice any issues that causes problems, like too much wobbling or distracting shaking from the monitor that's mounted to your arcade setup?

Most arcades had carpet - should be fine. They're not usually on feet, except cocktail cabinets (tables). Those feet should be adjustable. Arcade machines are heavy duty - built to be sturdy. Sounds like you're using a crappy Ikea desk or some such, which is not.

Solution - get a proper cabinet.

Have no idea but i remember hearing Todd Tuckey say on his videos that he uses teflon leg levelers on his home arcade, because they don't damage the floor / carpets and can be moved very easily.

Sometimes he refers to them as nylon leg levelers.

Any shaking / wobble may suggest the monitor is not really well secured or the cabinet has problems.

I agree check the monitors mounting for any signs of loose bolts or structural damage. The monitor should not be wobbling in its cabinet for any reason. These machines are built to take a lot of abuse (kids jerking and beating the crap out of it). Just ensure your cabinet is all nice and tight and there is no major cracks. The last thing you want is for one day something to give out and that monitor falls and your tube or yoke gets smashed.
