Fantastic stuff, cheers for linking. I wonder how the "Soviet Zelda" (here) actually plays. Looks quite advanced.
Thanks for posting the link, A.Snow. Quite in interesting read. I hope that one day they'll get around to making a video of those games. Yakumo
That was a good read for both links. Also like Yakumo it would be great to see these games shown in a video some day. Thanks
Man I was reading that the night before, I didnt post it here cuz I thought you guys already knew about it, too bad...
all soviet driving games seem to be based on the Lada experience. Considering it took on average 3 years to order & obtain a Lada it was probably the closest thing soviet kids got to a driving test. they all seem to have the same external sex appeal of an industrial tumbledrier, but I bet they played brilliantly. shame most of them are dying on their feet. I also loved the fact that soviet arcade games had no high scoring system. It shows the difference between Eastern & Western thought processes at the time so well.
Yeah, too bad it ends in the "thought" part, cuz in the happy stalin days you got shot if you werent the best, and better not talk about the gulags, pogroms and norilsk...
