Sorry - not talking about assist types. I mean the arcade version. You can string basic moves together with ease and little attention to timing and command timing for specials are equally generous and simple. Add to that characters like wolverine, unbalanced projectiles and shotgun tactics in the super moves. I am not saying that ease of operation makes it a bad game, it just goes some way to explain the popularity. As well as the reason that I have kinda dismissed it. Plus - I only play in the UK and Japan so I probably will never meet another player!
In ameirca and europe, VERY active. It's the most played competetive fighting game. Anyway as for there not being alot of cabs, the large tournaments actually just use the dreamcast one now (the evolution tournament for example). It's bring your own arcade stick, and you play on console. And I have yet to see a high level player use anything except HAPP parts at a tournament. as for match videos, anything with Justin Wong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C58gABfmIlU
If you were going to go that route I would just build one. I built my MAME cab just ordering the buttons and sticks I wanted from HAPP and everything else from HomeDepot.
Roughly 80% of arcade in Japan have Sanwa parts. The rest have Seimitsu. There are no Happ here. And there are still floors filled with 2d fighting games... just not MvC. The best thing about Japanese sticks (and arcades) is the conformity. They are the same everywhere. In the lame excuse for what arcades are in the west, it's a complete crap shoot.
Ok I have a huge problem I thought I would post it in this thread instead of making a new one since it is really on the same subject. Ok I decided I would get the hori real arcade pro 3 since I've heard good reports on it and its easy to mod. The main reason I was getting it was because its usb so it works on PS3 (which it is meant for) and for the PC for 3s. I went over to play asia and clicked it and went to the check out as I got there it was over 100 pounds I was like wtf has happened here. Well it turns out that the shipping costs more than the item it self. I was really mad to find this out and it gets worst. I asked over a SRK and they reckon there will be another 25 pounds added on to it also for customs. Which brings the total cost to 125 pounds for something which costed 44.....Is there a really cheaper site thats in the UK for maybe the same price or just a little more? Thanks!
You can perhaps find a private seller in Japan. Looking around I could probably locate & ship to you for $160 US assuming it costs what I think it would to ship to me. It looks to me that this item is not worth shipping via SAL, as it would save you only about $10. These things are huge though... you're going to have a hard time finding one for a bargain due to the weight (2600g). You can PM me if you need more specific info.
n7360, i have an extra NIB hrap3 and dont think it would be more than $40-$50 usd to ship it to the UK, based on USPS online postal calculator. Asking $90 usd for the stick, so your total to me would probably be around 70 pounds. I know i'm new around here, but can provide references from other sites; wouldn't have mentioned it normally but I saw you were looking for assistance, so . . . anyway, pm if you're interested.
Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! I missed this thread. I just completely forgot :110: I'm not sure but I think I've found a solution to the problem via this site which just happens to look like lik sang oddly enough. They want 70 pounds and shipping is free. I've asked a couple of people and they say that service is top so I'm thinking of going with this what do you lot think? Thanks for the offers GaijinPunch and cody! http://www.games-asia.com/horirealarcadeprostick3-p-1801.html?cPath=82_87
If that is the case, then that's a good deal. I would definitely clarify the method of shipment though. In your shoes, I would take either of the deals above over that though... definitely shipped secure & safe. I can't image them eating a $50 shipping cost.
