Are GameCube NR Disks Re-Writable?

Our NR Disks re-writable? I recently acquired one, but I'm trying to determine if its contents are legitimate. Knowing if it could have been potentially re-written would be helpful! Thank you!

 

As far as I know, no; they're like CD-Rs.

 

As with most recordable media, it's one write then it's not changing.
Same goes for Wii discs.

Did you know that laserdiscs had re-writables? Did you know DL-DVD-RW doesnt exist?

Dual Layer DVD (8.5gb) Rewritables dont exist unless you can prove to me otherwise
Laserdisc had the Pioneer VDR-V1000 which offered rewriting but the point is that it was a thing, not that it was common place

 

I was curious and googled around to find out that they did in fact exist. JVC had them ready but they never went on sale due to a lack of compatible drives. Weird story.

After the release date had been postponed from summer to end of year 2007 the last status on this archived page translates more or less to "To be relased as soon as compatible drives become available". Poor JVC...
