    Hello !

I´ve thought alot about to go to japan and work there for a few months but i dont know if its possible with the craft i learned. I worked in many different countries like Australia, French, England, Spain, Swiss, Austria, Romania.
I´m a Stonemason most of the time i restaurate old Buildings sometimes i made Headstones or other stuff in stone. I tried before to get some information about working in japan but is hard to find. Hopefully someone here is able to give me some :)

Well there are various complications to working in Japan.

If you get past those, your best bet is to visit in person the masons and
present them with a card and show them pictures of your work on an ipad or
something and ask them for a chance.

You'll probably need to learn Japanese as I don't see masons being fluent in english or german.

There are many places that make headstones and so on so there is a need for stonemasions but why would they need a non-Japanese? As ASSEMbler said, there are many things to overcome first and you most likely will need to know Japanese.

Unless he is skilled in making things like gargoyles and european special mansonry like Jesus sculptures.
He could become the one "Jesus guy" in Japan but I am sure it would be a hard life for sure.

It'd only be cool to be known as the "jesus guy" if you had long hair, a goatee, and smoked a lot of marijuana.. Then again, that's just my opinion, haha.. I can't imagine having a career making sculptures of Jesus of Nazareth; it would seriously suck.

I´m skilled and work in this job since 10 Years also i´m not an artist only a craftman. In every foreign country, mostly they have a lot of good skilled craftmans and this is the mattering fact for me. I like to learn from them further unike technikes they have maybe just in their country. Like this way i learned a lot since i began to travel.
I´m not out for to live forever there :)
