No matter how much work I have, there's always this thought about my Xbox1 that keeps nagging me. I know there's the XDK for access to all the API you need to program your stuff but is there anything else available (I mean, on top of the XDK)? Has anyone tried porting, say, SDL or Allegro or Ogre3D? Initially I tried looking after UE2X but, apart from actually contacting EPIC (heh, even if I had the cash, I doubt they'd actually license it anymore), I only managed to snatch a promise from one of my lecturers that he'd show me the editor and engine on his laptop (which is nonetheless pretty awesome!). So, has anyone tried getting any kind of engine or multimedia libraries to work with the Xbox? Or, does anyone know of any engine that can deploy to Xbox and is available, one way or the other, on the internet? I'd be tempted to port SDL if there isn't a better alternative out there.
there is a xbox port of sdl called sdlx by lantus, but it is an old port. concerning your topic check your pm.
I know someone ported either OGRE or irrlicht, I forget which, but I have no idea if they released it publicly. But yeah, lantus did sdl.
IrrlichtX is hosted here: http://svn.huntsvegas.org/ an updated version of libSDLx with HDTV support is there as well. If you're planning something ambitious, how about finishing XGLDirect? The Quake3 port used it however it was never released as a library and it's long gone.
