    Hi there,

I made up my mind to buy a brand new Sonic 2 game for game gear.

However, I am a little bit confused.

On Ebay, there are many new packages slightly different from the US version I know, please check the link below, my question is whether these green strips packages are original, also look at the sega logo at the front of the box, the logo is circumferenced by a some whitening

The original version is probably this, but I do not know:

    Please, share your insight
    Thanks

Looks official, perhaps from a different territory?

Blue Sega logo with white behind it looks normal to me.

Umm, actually what raises a flag for me in terms of "factory sealed" is that the shrinkwrap is covering the cardboard flap that would allow the game to be hung on a rod in a store. That seems kind of weird, and the plastic wrap looks like the kind that video stores would use to seal up the VHS tape boxes after removing the video cassettes. I'm sure you would get the game if you bought this, but if you want a brand new US version, I'd wait a few more days/weeks and see what else comes onto ebay.

Indeed the number of people that claim that games bought from Japan are brand new just because they are covered in plastic, ignoring the fact that most shops shrinkwrap stuff anyway...

This one is US, the most common version. No whitening variant also exists.

Its PAL box and manual had a different Game Gear logo.

You found a Majesco reprint box there. It's tiny hard to read, but look for "Distributed by Majesco Sales Inc." on the lower right side.

I didn't know SEGA shrunk wrap the cases.
I thought they used to hang them on the shelves.

Most likely, he shrunk wrapped it himself?

It may have been a decision on SEGA's American end. Most GG games fully sealed look to be our region.
