Are DVD Drives in Xbox 360 XDKs region locked (meaning an XDK PAL drive will only play PAL games, and same applies for NTSC)
Devs kits are region free. CPU key of dev skips the DVD key. Edit: I think you just need to change region in xshell, but I don't even think you have to do that.
The drive does not detect region on a Devkit, the region selector in xshell is to play the game in the correct language, that's about it. Regardless if you're shadowbooted or Stock, whatever disk you put into the drive will run, it wont check for the region.
Just saying just saying why don't you use google to find a answer. You learn more while looking for the answer you always want everything spoon feed to you. Not really hating or anything just saying you can learn more while you look for an answer.
And with regards to this question, XDKs have a unique region identifier in the KV: whereas NTSC-U is 0x00FF and PAL 0x02FE, XDKs will have 0x7FFF (IIRC). XDKs will not do any region checking.
