I am signing up (If they will have me, I'm on the boarder for age limit.) to be in the US Coast Guard, and was wondering if they knew or are in the Coast Guard. What should I expect of basic training, do you get paid during basic? Right now, my main worry is basic, I was going to join the Navy a few years back. But I chicken out the day I was to go to take the physical and test. I've seen 'Full Metal Jacket' enough times, that it scared me away from in listing. The recruiter for the Navy told be bootcamp isn't like that anymore and that was the Marines boot camp. I guess I'll have to wait for my date with the recruiter to ask about basic. :/ I just though someone could give me a heads up of what to expect. :/ =hugh
