I have a load of vouchers, but not quite this many yet!!1 Whatever will they stock next Sorry picture locked to site http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3356483.htm
I like the way they can't even get the orientation of the picture right. If the monitor is only 14" then it looks a right pile of junk. Alternatively buy a stand up machine and some boards...
With no mention of the games, I'd steer well clear. You can pick up arcade cabinets for around that price secondhand, as long as you can organise transportation of course!
Compared to this guy.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ARCADE-MANIA-FREEPLAY-MACHINE-SCRAMBLE-TRACK-FEILD_W0QQitemZ110144251134QQihZ001QQcategoryZ3945QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem I know you can get original ones cheaper, but then they don`t accept vouchers Games etc Games Include: Power Soccer, Doughboy, F1 Race, Boxing, Wrestle, Popeye, Ninja I, Ninja II, Ninja III, Combat, Mario Brothers, Dr Mario Badminton, World Cup Soccer, Baseball, Tennis, Wrecking Crew, Lode Runner, Lode Runner 2, Golf, Mickey Mouse, Ice Hockey, Pro Wrestling, Volleyball, Track & Field, Paper Boy, Spelunker, Seicross, Double Dragon, Scramble, Flipull, Alpine Ski, Arabian, 80 Days, Star Gate, Bowling, Pandamar, Asteroids, Bomb Jack, Onyanko Town, Moon Cresta, Phoenix, Arkanoid, Contra, Street Fighter, Spy Hunter, Spy v Spy, Elevator Action, Gradius, Hydlide, Space Hunter, B-Wings, Double Strike, Sky Destroyer, Bomber Man, Duck Eggs, Magmax, The New Type, Contra Force, Heavy Barrel, Wan Wan Panic, Choplifter, Legend Kage, Kung Fu, Star Soldier, Argus, Aladin, Goonies, Lunar Ball, Exed Exes, Excitebike, Son Son, Road Fighter, Turtle 5, Max Warrior, Sqoon, Gyrodine, Tank 90, Raid on Bay, Route 16, Mach Rider, Spartan X, Pooyan, Geimos, Thexder, Challenger, Clu Clu Land, Twinbee, Balloon Fight, Cross Fire, Binary Land, Gaig, Jewellery, Star Force, Exerion, Formation-Z, Macross, Circus Charlie, Zippy Race, Nuts & Milk, Chitei Fight, Front Line, Antarctic Adventure, Urban Champion, Flappy, Joust, Knights Fight, Karateka, City Connection, Door Door, 10 Yard Fight, Soccer, Othello, Lolo, Ice Climber, Chack Pop, Devil World, Sasa, Tiger-Heli, Island 2, Calculate, Super Chinese, Volguard II, Penguin, Baltron, Peepar Time, Star Luster, Aso, Babel, Metro-Cross, Sky Kid, Jajamaru, Quarth, Solomon Key, F15 City War, Transformation, Banana, Lotlot, Bokosula Wars, Gyruss, Urusei, Missile Command, Space Aliens, Pinball, Multi Labyrinth, 1942, Brush Roller, 100m Dash, Long Jump, 100m Hurdles, High Jump, Javelin, Skeet Shoot, Triple Jump and Archery. * No assembly - Just plug in and play * Digital sound, spectacular colour & dynamic graphics provide a superior playing experience * Scroll down the on-screen menu with the joystick for quick & easy selection of games * Instantly exit & reselect new games in a flash * Pause button allows for interruptions - enabling games to be finished off at another time * Control panel has 1 or 2 players option * Perfect for the home, games room or workplace * Professionally crafted pub-quality retro styled cabinet fitted with genuine arcade buttons & joystick controls for authenticity & reliability * 14inch high resolution colour monitor is protected by a high impact clear Perspex screen * Main on/off & volume controls are fitted to the rear of the cabinet Dimensions. "Well I am hardly going to say they are the ROMZ running on MAME with a custom front end...", although a number of these games are Nintendo PC-10 games rather then the proper arcade games... I know that a couple of companies have licenced games from companies for use in these machines but I also know that a few didn't pay and other such gubbins.
For that price you could get a japanese ABS + metal cabinet, a 28" monitor and Sanwa buttons. It's stupid to waste that much money on such a cab.
It's the tinny 14" screen that is the real kick in the nuts. I mean, just look at how stupid it looks with such a tinny screen. A 22" wouldn't have cost them that much more especially since it's probably a cheap no brand boobtube. Yakumo
These are not even using MAME, its been confirmed these just have a hacked up famiclone in them... 14" tv.
For that much money I'd rather build a MAME cabinet. They're both illegal, but at least you have the option of making the MAME cabinet not suck.
Why don't you think this is a legal thing? I doubt Argos are going to be selling a machine running stuff that isn't licensed.
I was just answering barc0de's comment, but yeah I doubt is legit, specially since at 999 pounds I doubt they'll sell that many as to make nintendo sue the crap outta them...
Nintendo would leap on anyone that makes profit from their copyright IF they hadn't licensed the games. All of the titles in this pack are available on a PC retro gaming range. If I was making some kind of MAME style cabinet I would be putting better/more games on the machine than the ones listed. Why no Super Mario Bros.? No Donkey Kong, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2, Ghosts N Goblins, No Namco games of any kind.
