I just came across the following: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5671867.htm If you wanted a cheap replacement before the only option is second-hand, plus 1yrs warranty from Microsoft, then it seems a pretty attractive deal especially if the 4 titles on offer are not games you have. Forza Motorsport Fable Halo2 Project Gotham Racing Not bad for £50.00 I would say. No, I am NOT an Argos employee!
whoa, that's great. i might be getting one!..so tempted..50 pounds is about 90 dollars though..must resist cheapness.. >< Any ideas what to do with a brand new XBOX and 4 games , besides resale? Is modding the box easy and can I do it without mingling with soldering? PS:reserved one
yes, you can mod xboxs without ever opening them lol. You will need a explotable game (splintercell is best) a mem card and a way to connect said mem card to the PC to get the exploited save to it. You can open a xbox dongle and solder a usb connector to it, then hook it to the PC and with the right drivers it will work like aflash drive, and you can connect it.
appreciated. Perhaps a link to a full guide for this? I m interested in making it region free and hopefully VGA cable compatible (I am aware there's no official VGA cable for it). Wouldn't mind booting backups either.
you can get a MAX Drive which is just the same thing but without any soldering http://www.modchipstore.com/microsoft-xbox-max-drive-16mb-datel-transfer-memory-files-16318.html Thats is a great deal with 4 great games as well might consider getting one
Any easy to install (I mean a few wires and nice big solder points!) mod chips about? I'd find it easier and cheaper to get a mod chip than to do a softexploit
Well as long as its not a V.16 xbox you can flash the onboard bios with a hacked one.Thats what I did to my xbox and my brothers. Its the same thing as having a modchip.
Just came home. Me and a friend both got an 05 (China) XBOX. there's good news and bad news however. The good news, the deal is real. The bad news, the games are out of stock and back-ordered. The XBOX sits in its sexy argos bag, un-opened, smelling fresh, and looking tidy and I m thinking of selling it, since the games I got (or didn't yet) also play on the 360. I haven't made my mind up yet, but please feel free to sway my opinion with your arguments or offers ;p
Glad to see that the deal is real - I am tempted to purchase one (test it) and stick it in the attic as a spare just incase I lose my current Xbox through accident, theft or mechanical failure. I'd hate to be stuck with 40+ Xbox games titles with nothing to play them on. Terrible that the games are on back order however!
