I desoldered my dreamcast BIOS chip perfectly and IT happened. One (the only one) of my solder points broke down and vanished into thin air. I've made a picture of course. It would be nice if one of you great people could try to find an alternative solder point. I've already destroyed a dreamcast before trying this bios replacement mod. :(

Anyway here is the picture. The broken point is near point 23 and marked by me. I think the point is called "Q12" or "25" on the replacement bios.

Thank you really much for your time and help and reading this. I appreciate it!

    Not connected. Ignore it.

Q8-15 are not used, as the chip is read in 8 bit mode.

Are you really sure that I don't need this point? Would be great news of course!

    Please confirm. Thanks.

Thanks for your fast response. Guess I'll try it now and let you all know if it works.

It boots with a black screen. After 5 seconds the dreamcast logo appears and it freezes.

    is your gdrom connected?

Thats what happens when its disconnected.

Bios is working fine, else it wouldnt boot. Also, if you leave it for about 5 minutes (when it gives up looking for the gdrom) you should get into the menu just fine.
