Very well written. Is this an actual published magazine or an online one? I would like to see this published in a regular gaming magazine.

The article sure does make this community cool because of what it is all about :). I'm not a big collector or really into the whole acquiring rare games. What I really want to do is to help change or modify the current legal system so that such information can be known to the public. Being part of high-society will surely help down the road.

Nice read, though it delves into area's of the community where I (thankfully) havent had to approach yet (sea pirates and the like). Id hope it stays that way but with what Im after I may have to eventually. :crying: I guess its just that I was ignorant to the fact that some people here have dealt with sea pirates? Yikes guys, just yikes!

I like how you compared us to the freemasons. Yes, we are secretly taking over the world, one unreleased game at a time :)

Looks like you almost mentioned me. Dang.

Anyway, the article is totally cool, can't wait for the next one!

Wow, reading that, makes you realise just how "exclusive" this sort of community really is.

Credit where it's due, was a good article!

I suppose thats true, but I did just kinda waltz in here not too long ago and Im "fairly" accepted when it comes to buying/selling things already. You just cant come in here going "LOLZ FREE GAEMZ" and think youll be accepted. Though Ill admit those kind of posts do give me a chuckle :icon_bigg

As touched on in the article, this forum is the "public level" most of the "good stuff" happens in more private places to protect annonimity (spl).

Was quite amusing reading it going "oh yeah I know who 'person x' is" and was interesting to read a few things I didn't know about, was surprised some of it was "allowed" to be mentioned though, as it could make life more difficult for some.

Very nice article, really makes the community (both public and underground) seem dramtized and gives it that "cloak and dagger" appeal you feel it deserves to be presented as.

As it stands right now, the public side of the community isn't at its best, after (as you mentioned) several shake ups, not the least of which was the Sonic Xtreme fiasco. Due to this, open discussion of prototypes and the like have been cut down to a minimum throughout the various interconnected communities and sub-communities that deal in such. The assembler board flaunts the fact that it is dedicated to the excessivly rare, but i've certanly noticed in the less pronounced communities which are about said items that members have become more reluctant to have open discussion as well.

Putting that asside though, and being more general about the article, it was good to see a nice collection of incitefull quotes from various people in the comminity critiqued, explained, and elaborated upon. The writing style flows well and points worth reflecting on are consistent and well placed. Or to summerize, I liked it it alot and look forward to seeing future works from you whether they be on a similar subject or are far removed and more catored to the 'casuals'.

An excellent read. The Korean missile components part I found particularly amusing. That must have been an interesting situation to have to sort out.
