Idea stolen from retroplayer. It is October why isn't there a horror games topic 2014 on assembler ? What are the best horror games ? What are the best unreleased horror games? Who can beat the most horror games here before 31 October ? I also discovered creepypastas i didn't even know what that was. LOL Some are really well done. But why are there so many pokemon creepypastas ? I am kicking this thread off with 2x top 10 pokemon creepypastas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCXIbWUX7iw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t2_aGDTYWk Let's see how many horror fans there are here.
In my opinion Alone in the Dark (the original, obviously), Siren and Rule of Rose are the best three horror games ever. About unreleased ones ... dont know, maybe some D version.
I'm planning on starting Resident Evil (the GC remake) some time in the next week or so. After that, I might play either Resident Evil 2 (DC version) or Code Veronica (also DC).
Cause that's what the biggest share of non-gamers/casual gamers can relate to, so the creators are feeding the easiest accessible pool to make their ideas popular. Or maybe Pokemon is just creepy. I personally think the PC-game "Titanic - Adventure out of time" was incredibly creepy because of the extremely sinister music in the lower decks. I am not exaggerating that I am getting goosebumps just remembering the game to write this post. Walking around endless hallways in the C-deck with the occasional character popping up on the other side of some corner gave me the chills as a child. And this music... also it doesn't help that the few "prop" bitmap passengers on the ship do not have faces.
I can't believe there is going to be another resident evil remake. We want a remake of part 2 capcom!! Ps what is de best version of resident evil 2 and are there differences ?
I can not wait to get my hands on Alien Isolation! Will be playing this in the dark with my surround sound up
Yeah, that's definitely on my buy-once-PS4-has-gone-down-in-price list. I'm slightly surprised "Five Nights at Frankie's" hasn't been mentioned. Yes, it's cheap jump scares, but I've seen worse...?
For me the best horror game of the last few years would be Dead Space (the first one) i don't know why but this game really creeps me out, even today after my many runs if you havent tried it yet i suggest you do so right away
Splatterhouse will always give me the warm and fuzzies especially this time of year. I haven't played Illbleed, Nightmare Creatures or Fatal Frame in a long time so those will probably be towards the top of my list.
I've been playing it. It reminds me of the old school splinter cell with sneaking around. The game has some flaws though. For example the alien can pretty much teleport to wherever it wants to; which is super annoying. An example. I'm in an underground crawl, pop up the hatch to get out and the alien is right in front of him. I'm like oh shit, jump back down the hatch and close the lid. Not a second later the alien is behind me in the underground crawl and kills me. The game has made me a jump a few times though, god love it.
Dead Space 2 was by far hands down one of the best horror games for me last generation, I have still yet to play Dead Space 3. Dead Space Extraction for the Wii was also a pretty good on the rails shooter.
Best Horror Game : REmake Beautiful looking game with such an eerie artstyle, happy to see it getting a HD re-release...hopefully if it sells well this time and capcom does the same for 2 and 3 As for unreleased.......RE1.5?
I'm also looking forward to the Alien game on PS4. Gotta replay Clock Tower and try out Haunting Ground too! Havn't beaten Outlast yet either...been awhile since I played it.
You certainly have to play Haunting Ground mate! If you've not played Clock Tower 3, I'd skip it and go to HG. Much better.
Didn't know about that one. Since I haven't played the PS2 one(s) yet (they're on my list though), would you recommend going directly with the PS3 (once I get one eventually), or are they different enough to warrant a playthrough of both?
I believe is the HD remake of the first siren on the PS2. As it was mention on the wiki. " It is a "reimagining" of the first installment in the series, Siren, with many alterations to structure and content, along with most of the gameplay improvements introduced in Forbidden Siren 2." Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siren:_Blood_Curse I played it for 20mins, after that I turn off the PS3 and decided enough is enough. This is a game I will play strictly in the day time only. =P
I've got 3 horrorish PC games I wanna tackle this month. Blood (so much...blood), Doom 3, and Ripper.
