I think it has to do with the Hacker magazine called 2600. They sell it at Barnes and Noble. I'm guessing its from that magazine since the email is to someone named 2600.

Nah, couldn't find any refrence to him at 2600.com. More than likely he's just a 2600 fan (either the game console or the magazine.)

Funny you should mention 2600, I've been a reader since 2000 now. I love it. I have the hacker skills of a bilind retarted chicken with tourette's syndrome, but I still love it, even if I can't understand 90% of what I'm reading. Any other 2600 fans here?

In case you don't know what I'm talking about, here:

I like the magazine. I don't know if I'd subscribe to it, but I enjoy reading it. I usually don't understand much of what's going on, either :smt022 .

I understand pretty much everything they talk about. Its mainly lil things that they show which I find funny. Stuff like messing with Traffic signals showing L337 or Ass and even "100mph is OK. GO." The pictures of the phones they show I find quite neat.

Their latest mag talks about China and how they are handling internet access to their populus. Its an interesting read.

It's just some new media experiment from this Brent Gustafson guy. He is gonna experiment with UI's and wants to change the way we look at video games. I guess it's gonna be a (stylish) videogame-ABC thingy.

Perhaps you'd like to explain the intricacies of IPv6 for us then ;-)
Seriously, their technical stuff is tough going.

I have a few 2600 issues, it's a pretty crappy zine IMO lol, little info of interest to me, too much useless C pseudocode. Anyways on topic, I like his AXBX thing, generates some pretty nice patterns, his 2a03 work...

  16. I'll snag an issue of the rag every now and then from the newsstand. It's a fun little read, despite some of the concepts being a little over my head. Not worth $5 in my opinion, tho... :smt009

I find that just as I start to think I know snap about computers, the next issue comes along and I'm totally in the dark again. My friends think I'm some kind of "hacker" becasue I know basic computer security and can manitain my own LAN. Bullshit, I can't even configure my own router.

Anyway, each day you learn something new I suppose. It's all about knowledge in the end.

Anybody read Blacklisted 4-11? Like 2600 but more to the "black hat" crowd (at least that's how it's presented.)

Oh shit! That's a friend of mine! Haha, I was just waiting for these two worlds to collide.

Fucking ACE scripter he is. And one of the best hardcore gamers I've ever had the pleasure to talk with on a regular basis.
