Hey Folks, As many of us know the SEGA Service Manuals for the Game Gear and many others have surfaced. I've noticed in one of the PDF's of the GG Europe service manual; on page 21 there is mention of using a "GG CHECK Cartridge Version 1.5". I remembered looking at this GG EPROM cart video by "AssemblerEX" on YouTUbe a couple of years ago. Link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axWvKighZ50 And he mentions this EPROM on his cart having a sort of GG System TEST ROM. I messaged him recently seeing if he might be able to download the ROM off of it. I'm guessing this is the TEST ROM that is mentioned here in the GG Service Manual. I asked if he could copy the ROM off of it. He mentioned that it had already been DUMPED by a Member here and listed in this Forum? Can anyone Direct me to this TEST ROM location? I think that it would be a great addition to go with the GG Service Manual...... and for us to Archive. I'm hoping he might find the GG EPROM Cart and re-download it for us. However, I have no Idea if he has an EPROM reader or not. It would be interesting for us to test this out. -Gerry
THe video would have been made by ASSEMbler on these boards but I'm not sure who would have dumped the cartridge. Maybe someone here can help you though. Just need to wait I guess until the right person comes along.
"Omar" at smspower If you are talking about "Bock" one of the Admins......I was actually talking with him before coming here. And he know nothing about it. Any chance you could Dump this ROM again Assembler ? Many of us here have EPROM readers if you'd want someone to do it. Mailing the EPROM chip alone would suffice. I think that it would be really good for us to archive something so rare. Both here and at SMSPower. Let me know, Cheers! -Gerry
I don't know how I would feel about it. I would make my item worthless by releasing the image. I would probably only be happy if I raised enough to cover what I paid for it. I will dwell on it for a few days.
Hhmmm...I see your point. Well, if you'd be interested in selling it, I'd be interested in acquiring it to cover your cost. Think about and let me know. Thanks again Assembler. Cheers! -Gerry
The dilemma of being a collector. Investing or setting it free into the world. I always think of knowledge being power, so releasing as much as I can is great. Sure it may reduce the value of some of them... but it sure feels good! :encouragement: Then again, maybe I am a little strange! :wink-new:
Sega Game Gear EPROM cart - with GG System TEST ROM Hi Assembler, I just scanned and uploaded the "Sega Game Gear Europe Maintenance Manual & Schematics" on SMSPower. Maxim the site Admin has converted it to a PDF version for the community to share. http://www.smspower.org/uploads/Development/GameGearMaintenanceManualEuropeVA1.pdf I do hope you will consider sharing the GG TEST ROM from your Eprom cart at some point. I also just purchased a GG EPROM cart off eBay. The same Model as yours and I have various EPROM chips to go with it. Would you be interested in a Trade?.......to justify your original purchase? Anyhow, I'll stop bugging you now regarding this. If you decide not to, I'll respect that. Cheers Assembler! Your Videos are awesome.... Kind Regards, Gerry O'Brien
