    Hey Everyone,

So I was looking at an Asus eee Box EB1012P Atom D510 for a mame/dos-box system. How loud is it? I heard that people say it's kind of hard to clean the fans when it gets dusty, but I don't know. I'm also wondering if it supports 1TB hard drives or not since those are a little thicker than regular notebook drives.

Does anyone own one of these, or have an opinion about it?

I own an Asus eee Box, but I'm not sure which model it is right now. It's completely silent and has been running for over 2 months without turning it off.

He knows that, as he said they are a little thicker...

Ah I thought he meant the full size ones.

A friend of mine has exactly this model and he's very happy with it, it's completely silent as Nully said.

Ah. It sounds like a good machine. I was debating getting one vs a Zbox nano AD10 from Zotac. That unit is even smaller, but it might make more noise.

I have a Acer Revo R3610 which is pretty much the same thing.

I use mine as my media centre, plays everything on my TV. ION will let you play 1080p no problem.

I don't think more is the correct term to use seeing as the Asus EeeBox makes NO noise. I can probably record a video of mine so you can hear for yourself if you want.

Well, some is always more than non, but I get what your saying. (^_^); In regards to the performance, how do you find it? For example, what's the most gaming intensive task you can run on it before it starts becoming unplayable? I would hazard a guess that most modern games like SF4 would probably run on it provided you turned all your settings to low. Probably most emulators above PSX/N64 probably wouldn't run so great ether I think.

It's running Linux as a file server with a 500gb hard drive. Can't really comment on the performance, especially on running Windows. The Intel Atom is pretty weak from what I've gathered.
