I just came into posession of one of these, for free. Pulled it out of a previously working kiddie ride. At the time I didn't know what it was, or I would have made sure to take the whole machine (is already going to be in a dumpster by now). Anyways, everything I've been able to find on it indicates that there was only one cart previously known to exist, and it was labelless from the coder. This one has a label that has been worn away by ages of sitting outside of a KMart, but reads: "Carousel International presents Speedster II Version 107". So, I guess I'm looking for any other information on this, if anyone here has ever heard of one going for sale (can only find references of one having been sold ages ago, and no price), or any sort of estimate on how much it would be worth. I suppose I should also post pics to go with this post, and will soon, but just finished a long day of moving arcade machines and need rest. Edit: Took some pictures. I would expect that these not leave this forum.
I've got one of those, The Jaguar Sector II forums have had them too, they sell for about $500 when they pop up me think...
Was yours or any other that has popped up been in active service? Do they have labels? If so, are they all Version 107? From what I've seen (thank you for that forum name as they had lots of bits of info) the ones that have made it into collectors hands have all been without label and purchased directly from the developer.
I've owned 3 of these. DreamTR is right, they sell from $350-$500 on the high end. There are 3 different versions of it. You either fly into Carousel, Wal*Mart or K-Mart. There was also a Skycopter kiddie ride. The neat thing about your cart is, it's the first one I've ever seen with a label on it. I bought mine direct from Carousel before they went bust. Best bet to maximize profits if you're going to sell is Ebay. Good find!
There's been a copy of the ROMs floating around for at least the last 5 years...exceptional to find a real cart though. Congrats! Stone
Totally forgot to have this on my list of places to check while on vacation. No, I didn't get a pic of the machine, but it was custom made, as the mold for it was there in the repair shop too. I can only assume that it had a LOT of work done over the years to keep it nice (either that or the guy made it, put it out, it broke right away and sat in the shop since).
Funny to see this, me and a member on JI II discovered this sometime back (I want to say 2001) and bought them from company for $80 each and then dumped them, funny to see what the above says they are selling for.
I'm still here Been super busy w/ my job and travel, but do my best to check in here as often as possible.
