Someone may *brr* when he hears that Old name, but since im a freaking Atari Console fan (own an Original Atari 2600 & atari XE :smt033 ), i was thinking about getting an Atari Jaguar...so i had a look on eBay around, but before jumping out in the cold i wanted to hear some opinions on the price i could expect.....

    Thanks

Ask Greatsaintlouis, he has one for sale, although it's been modded to 60hz, I think you can easily mod it back if the need arises.

I sold a boxed one on ebay (with Doom & Cannon Fodder + a homemade SCART lead) for 90 euros, but that's above the normal price :smt033

  3. As Anti said, I've got a 60Hz PAL model here I'm looking to unload. I could possibly include a controller with it, unless you'd have an easy way of getting ahold of one where you are (it's my second controller). However, if you're in the UK, I can help you with neither power supply (although its a fairly common voltage here) nor AV hookups (although I believe Tachikoma had a SCART lead he was looking to get rid of).
    Let me know. :smt023

In fact, I recall it's the same as the Megadrive I / Game Gear.

he sold it to me, and now I sold it with the Jaguar bundle to some guy in Austria.

  10. Well, I suppose I could have said I've got a fully functional US power supply and a composite lead, but that wouldn't have really been very helpful either, now would it? So instead of trying to hawk off a bunch of useless crap that wouldn't help, I thought I'd be semi-helpful and mention that the voltage required was fairly common to find adaptors for - as Anti said, MegaDrive/Genesis I or Game Gear - and that I remembered that when I bought this unit from Tachikoma, he had a SCART lead that he didn't sell to me for the very same reason I'm not offering a US power supply - because it wouldn't have worked.

I was, as Anti said, trying to shoot for something like honesty and common sense and a little bit of trying to be helpful, but I guess it's more preferable for a seller to be dishonest and be on mushrooms or acid.

Anywho, kammedo, if you're interested in a Jag and don't mind searching for components, I've got this one, but if they are as common there as virtual alan mentioned, you might want to get one locally.

kammedo, what games are you interested in? ive always wanted to play a jaguar, i dont think i know a single person that had one. i looked at them a year or so ago. mostly for avp, there's a few other cool looking titles, heck i'd even give club drive a try

  14. Despite its sheer blockyness, Club Drive really isn't that bad if you just want a fun, flat-shaded polygon game. Don't pay too much for it, but snag it on the cheap if possible.

IMO AvP does not stand the test of time well. For the most part it looks like the 3D maze screensaver that came bundled with Windows 95, only with less colours.
Tempest 2000, though, is excellent and well worth picking up. About the only reason I still have my Jag.

Jag really needed some decent (Japanese) software houses to get into it (and a 3rd party manufacturer with some decent production values to make a nicer pad). It's a fairly decent machine spec-wise, but the software library is mostly horrible... dare I mention "Kasumi Ninja"...

myst aint all that good, i have a copy for saturn, the cd add on for the jag goes for a few cool bills though. im sure id be slightly dissapointed playing avp but then again i remember reading reviews on how great the atmosphere in the game was and stuff. i still play zero tolerance on genesis and the game is only run on like a third of the screen. i even mailed away for the cable for that game that allowed you to hook up two segas/tvs and play together with someone else. that was the sweetest thing back in the day.
