Source Code for Atari 7800 Games released

I'm sure some people will enjoy this.

Atari 7800 Game Source and dev tools. It includes the source for Dig Dug, Centipede, Joust, and Pac-Man to name a few of the popular games. They state its "It now seems that more programmers are taking an interest in this wonderfully powerful videogaming system and tapping into its potential to create games far surpassing those on the Atari 2600, 5200 and 8bit Atari computers."

It really makes no sense to me why they would release the now. But for learning purposes and such its great .

Edit: An article stated it was an "official" release, so I went on that assumption. Its not, how ver, an Atari release.

 

It wasn't Atari that released it but an independent website.

 

Thats what i thought at first, but these sites said otherwise. I just took their word. But now the second one 'Edited' the article for the second time, stating it wasnt an official release. And that it why I dont like any type of journalism =/
