Atomiswave Prototypes/Dev system So, I've been in contact with a guy that has a few prototypes and unreleased games. The unreleased games seem to be Force Five and Premier Eleven. He also has a Atomiswave Development kit (which was code named System-X apparently) and he sent a picture of it to me. I won't post it until I get the alright from him, but it's what you expect it to be. It's a Katana dev system with the gdrom removed and what I'm assuming connectors for the cart placed in that area instead. That means it has a HDD in it with a possible game. Now, it seems he wants a pretty penny for each one of the items including Force Five and I'm assuming the same for Premier Eleven. I asked him if it was possible to hold off selling Force Five at least so some sort of group fund could be done to get the game bought, dumped, and released for the masses (he hasn't said yes or no, so getting this together asap would probably be preferable). Would anyone be interested? I can buy it outright (maybe try to negotiate with him to get the price down a little) so the game is secured, but I have to make sure there would be some sort of fund for this because I can't take a huge hit on game hah. Edit: If this is in the wrong area, I'm sorry...thought it would be the best area to bring it up.
I'd be interested in funding a force five dump. Especially if we can get darksoft involved on a naomi conversion. Please post more details about this game and what you know about it's completeness.
This is really interesting, and having the Atomiswave data on a Katana devkit HDD might even open some interesting possibilities for the more talented among us. I for one would definitely be up for donating!
How much proof do you have that he actually has the protos, besides photos of the devkit? I can probably finance a purchase of the entire lot if certain conditions are met; send me a PM if you want to discuss further.
Well, actually things are moving along and it appears that these games might get into the right hands...so we don't need any donations right now. If anything interesting happens, I'll update it here!
While we are waiting for news on the other Atomiswave protos..here is one I grabbed. It's a proto of Rumble Fish 2. It's a very early build as it's missing levels, the intro, animation, hit detection for ranged attacks, sound, and the sound mixing is just awful. Although on the plus side it has a different title screen (same as RF1), different sounds, different character select screen images, and at the end of the video there is a "Coming soon from Dimps" message which leaves me to believe that this was used in some sort of presentation or show....though I'd be embarrassed to show this build of the game to the public haha
