Ok Guy's, I have everything I need to get this thing built, I have a question about my ATX power supply though. it's got all the wires I need on it and the others I can just tape up with some electrical tape, but my wired jamma harness came with the power wires with the forks on the end. so can I just take the forks off the ends of those and connect them to the wires from the power supply and wrap tape around them or maybe a cap? I would hate to have to buy a new power supply.

I did something similar to this, but instead of wiring the PSU directly to the harness, I wired a molex connector to the harness so I can swap out PSUs down the road if needed. You do loose the -5V connection if you choose to so this, but the games I've used it for don't need -5V. Also, I'd recommend solder+shrink tubing instead of loose tape for stability,

-5v hasnt been in the ATX spec for a long time anyway. Any recent PSU will not have it.

Never just wrap power leads and put tape round them. Soldering isn't a good idea with power, either. Do it right - use terminal block.

Lack of -5v is an issue for some older games, but a lot of the time it's fine.

I just went ahead and bought a new power supply so all I need to do is unscrew from the psu slide in the forked power connectors from the harness and screw back down.
but I have now run into another problem...... I just wired my harness to the joysticks and buttons but when it came to my coin 1 and coin 2 buttons I can't wire them from the wires on the harness? the wire's are there it's just the coin 1 button is connected to a molex and coin 2 is a smaller quick connect that won't fit the one's on my switches. any help or advice
