He's probably talking about the ads ebay is placing in auctions that when clicked on they open up in the same window, thus taking away bidders. It is stupid to place ads of other companies that are selling the same thing you're trying to sell.
Yeah, maybe this is from the competitors to auction ads, to try and start some negative buzz for them. This sounds like a job I could get into. Where do I sign up to do this?
It's "curiosity" spam. No links and limited information are provided in order to make people search for the spam on their own. Hell, both companies are probably owned by the same people.
