I am in need of some software (preferrably free) that I can use to edit the background noise out of some .wav files I have. Then I need to convert them to mp3. The conversion is not as important as cleaning them up though. Thanks for any recommendations.
As far as editing, I use magix. I know there software cost money, but I'm sure there is a free trial somewhere.
audacity is a good music editor; i use it to trim music down for ring tones and such; not sure about background noise though. It is free so it might be worth a look. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
You should get GOLD WAVE It's shareawre but you can use it for up to 250 commands before a message starts to pop up. Even when it does pop up you just close it then continue ! Gold wave is a very good bit of software. I've been using it for 5 years now (Newer versions each time). You can do ANYTHING with Gold Wave. It will even take avi and MPEG files so that you can edit the audio. Almost every format under the sun is covered as well. yakumo
nah, thanks for the offer. I'll stick with Gold Wave. that software is very good. You can do anything with it like I mentioned. Yakumo
