ok so I've got here an Avermedia game capture HD2, for those who don't know, it's a standalone capture unit (with mic support) I also have a Focusrite Scarlett Solo, USB mic preamp, 48v xlr, headphone and line out... When I connect the LINE OUT or HEADPHONE (from scarlett) to the HD2's mic input and apply usb power to the Scarlett solo.. OH MAH LORDY! Even with monitoring off, I can hear all the HDD's in my house (from the HD's Headphone port).. Now I'm new to most of this audio stuff but is this because the mic input has some sort of forward voltage (like phantom?) ?? So I had a quick goolge and I'm guessing I'll need to build an "attenuator"?? But I'm not very familiar with this audio stuff.. Found a schematic for a "attenuator" on mr. google but what do I build "balanced"? The other option is to rip into the HD2 but err warranty :/ Also anyone have any tips on making a nice shielded 3.5mm extension cable? PS: The Scarlett DOES NOT have any noise when used normally ie: when used on my PC with real-time monitoring Thanks everyone for any helps :3
farrrrkkkk I don't know what happened but the DAC for the mic input died :/ arrgrggrhesjklhfjkldshfjkl;dsfkl;dsjiorjewipojpowsa Oh well I was looking to get a usb one for streaming anyway....
