Here's my collection of 'Strike games; from Desert Strike, through Jungle Strike, Urban Strike, Soviet Strike and Nuclear Strike. Click the images to see them in full-size (the full images are about 2.5 MiB each) - descriptions follow each one. They're are in no particular order... Apologies for the poor picture quality. Amiga versions of Desert Strike. The original on the left, the re-release on the right. Both versions use three 3.5" floppies. MS DOS version of Desert Strike (3.5" floppy version - I don't have the CD ROM version - yet) on the left, with the Desert Strike and Jungle Strike "combo" pack on the right - it contains both games on a single CD (also for MS DOS). Three Amiga versions of Jungle Strike. From right to left: OCS version (A500 - floppy disk), AGA version (A1200 - floppy disk) and CD32 (CD ROM). Two demo disk from Amiga magazines. MS DOS versions of Jungle Strike. The 3.5" floppy version on the left, the CD ROM version on the right. Nuclear Strike for Windows 95 (un-opened). US release? Nuclear Strike for Windows 95 - EU release. Left: Original UK release of Desert Strike for the Game Boy. Right: UK white-box re-release of Desert Strike for the Game Boy. The two UK releases of Jungle Strike for the Game Boy. The original on the left, the re-release on the right. Urban Strike for the Game Boy (European release). Urban Strike Poster that comes with the above copy of Urban Strike for the Game Boy. Desert Strike Advance for the Game Boy Advance. Both US releases -- it seems -- but have minor differences on the box. One is sealed. Desert Strike for the Game Gear and Atari Lynx. The Lynx one is interesting; see below. I have two different carts for this game; not sure what's up with the top one - possibly a reproduction, or something, since it came with photocopied instructions. Jungle Strike for the Game Gear (US release - I'm pretty sure that's the only place this was released). Probably the rarest item in my 'Strike collection and it didn't cost me a penny! DVD-case release (right) and re-release (left) of Nuclear Strike for Windows 95. Both European releases, I think. Nuclear Strike for the PlayStation; left is the European release - right is the US release. Left: Nuclear Strike for the N64 - US release. Right: Nuclear Strike for the N64 - European release. Soviet Strike for the PlayStation. From left to right: Original European release, EA classics release (Europe), Platinum re-release (Europe) and US Greatest-Hits (re?) release. Japanese release of Soviet Strike for the Saturn. French release of Soviet Strike for the Saturn. I'm currently hunting the US, German and Spanish releases of this for the Saturn. Desert Strike for the SNES/Super Famicom. Left to right: Europe, US and Japan. Jungle Strike for the SNES/Super Famicom. Left to right: Europe, US and Japan. Urban Strike for the SNES - European and US releases, in that order. Desert Strike for the Sega Master System. Desert Strike for the Mega Drive: original European release, EA Classics re-release (Europe) and the Japanese release. Jungle Strike for the Mega Drive: European and Japanese releases. European Mega Drive release of Urban Strike. Desert, Jungle and Urban Strike card box Majesco releases for the US Mega Drive (Genesis) - all sealed. EA Replay for the PSP (EU release - there's a US release which has different art work, but I don't have it. Yet). The only game in this collection I can't play (no PSP). Top-left: cheats/tips book for Mega Drive games - including Desert Strike. Top-right: Desert Strike novel off of the cover of Sega Power. Bottom: Official Nuclear Strike strategy guide. Some 'Strike related magazines. Left: old Sega Power issue with an article on the game that became Urban Strike. Right: Xmas 2007 issue of Retro Gamer, which has a story about the making of Desert Strike. Desert Strike poster - I think it came with the US release of Desert Strike for the SNES (I can't remember - that may have had a different poster. I'll check at some point). Desert Strike "Super Play" cards by Panini - front. Desert Strike "Super Play" cards by Panini - back. A Nuclear Strike post card I got from the US. It appears to be from Tower Records and doubles as a US$10 coupon for use when buying the game. The sticker is on the plastic wrapping, not the card itself. Nintendo Power "Super Power Club" card #49. An EA games booklet, showing off various games they were releasing at the time - including Desert Strike. Whole collection. Picture is now outdated, since it's missing a lot of my recent additions. I'm missing a few games, as you'll have noticed: Various Europe and US releases of Soviet Strike for the Saturn, the original US release of Soviet Strike for the PlayStation, the MS DOS version of Desert Strike on CD ROM, Urban Strike for the Game Gear, the US PSP release of "EA Replay", the Korean releases of Desert Strike and Jungle Strike (for the Super Gam*Boy - a licensed Mega Drive clone), US plastic-case releases of Desert, Jungle and Urban Strike for the Mega Drive (Genesis), and the Russian (pirate?) releases of Desert, Jungle and Urban Strike games for some odd (possibly pirate) Mega Drive portable (a purple and green one). There's also a known Master System blister pack of Desert Strike (see Rupert's collection) and Chinese pirate copy of Jungle Strike - neither of which I own. Oh, and the "Beirut Breakout" prototype is absent. I'm looking to obtain all of these missing items - in due time. If anyone can help me obtain any of the above items, I'd be very grateful. I hope this wasn't too boring for you guys and gals.
Very nice collection! I often thought about getting all the games, as I loved the series. I'm pleased to say you have put me off! LOL! I might have a spare UK Soviet Strike for Saturn, I'll have a look.
That is an amazing collection! Congrats! I'm still looking for mint Soviet and Nuclear Strike for the PS1. Rented them a lot, back there. Desert, Jungle and Urban i plan from time to time in PS2's PGen. Shame they stopped making the series.
really fantastic collection, Ive known you for a wile now and I knew you were into 'Strike' stuff but had no idea you had this much! :katamari:
Very impressive, thanks for sharing! It took me till just now btw untill I realized that Soviet Strike is a sequel to Desert Strike -.-
I've added a bunch of new items: Soviet Strike for the Saturn (Japanese and French), Desert Strike for the Game Boy (EU white-box re-release), Nuclear Strike for Windows 95 (EU big box), EA Replay for the PSP (featuring Desert Strike) and some magazines that are related. I've trimmed the pictures a little this time, since 2 MiB of each image was of my sofa. I've got a bunch more cool items on their way soon (but won't be here for a week or so): Amiga Desert Strike demo disk, Amiga Jungle Strike demo disk, Jungle Strike poster with map on the back and a Nintendo Power Trading card (Desert Strike one). EDIT: Unfortunely, the poster got lost during its journey from the US.
