is it possible to backup saturn save games with today's standarts? assuming i have an action replay 4-in-1 card with comm port and a modchipped saturn and a modern pc.

my main aim would be to be able to use my saves on pc emulators and save them for future use etc.

http://www.gamingenterprisesinc.com/DataLink/ i found this but it is expensive (55$ plus shipping)

just wondering is there a cheaper solution?

Interesting. I hadn't seen this before. You would think that if you're going through the trouble of designing the whole cartridge (instead of plugging into an ARP cart), that you would make the interface wireless (like Bluetooth).

To me, it would be worth some additional cost, to be able to un-tether the laptop from the Saturn and be cable free. Maybe this will be a future project for me, lol. Speed isn't really an issue with gamesaves (which is what most people use it for). It only takes a few seconds to do the transfer. But yes, for large homebrews, speed becomes an issue. The nice thing about using the ARP/DataLink is that your homebrew has access to the additional 4MB of ram.

Does any one own a Saturn USB dev cart? What are they like, are they easy to transfer saves to pc?
