ok i like downloaded some captain tsubasa tvrips "spanish" and they are from some vcds, but they are only the .dat , so what i would like to know if anyone knows a good program to make menus without recompressing the episodes... thx :angry PS: help me get a free ipod and you can also get one! get your video profresor and learn something that you already know! like html or something!
THe full version of Nero 6 will allow you to add menus to make a DVD style disc. You will need to re-encode the files though if they are not MPEG. Yakumo
That's because if they're taken from VCD they'll be MPEG-1, rather than MPEG-2 which DVD uses. So you'll have to re-encode at some stage. Use TMPEG as it's the quickest.
yes... they are mpeg1... i dont wanna make dvds, i wanna make videos for those mpeg1 without reencoding them
Nero 6 will give you the option to make VCD, SVCD or DVD and even Mini DVD and DVD+ something. YOu should'nt need to re-encode MPEG1 to make a VCD with Nero 6 unless the audio data is wrong. Yakumo
well i have done it before with saint seiya vcds "spanish dub ofcourse" and those where captured by the same guy and nero reencodes... :smt014
The BEST MPEG Encoder by far is MainConcept. Super fast, excellent encoding to any mpeg format. It takes about 9 minutes to re-encode a 20 minute video; much, much faster than other encoders (TMPGenc for example takes about double the runtime fo a vid to convert it, let alone half of it). Also NERO's encoder has always creates errors for me, I never use it to create DVDs or VCDs. For authoring DVDs it's not necessary to re-encode VCD standard MPEGs to MPEG2. DVDs can also use MPEG-1 (VCD) video as source video; it's up to the software if it allows it or not. TMPGenc DVD Author does and is an excellent DVD authoring tool; with it you can easily fit about 6-7 hours on a single DVD. I personally use a combination of MainConcept and TMPGenc DVD Author to encode video->create DVD, it literlaly saves hours and hours and hours of time, especially without having to waste time in converting MPEG-1s to MPEG-2s.
ok, like people dont understand me. I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE DVDS, I WANT TO MAKE V C D'S WITH MY ALREADY ENCODED .DAT FILES WITHOUT REENCODING. thx. + i dont like fast encoding crap, makes horrible quality crap, slow encoding is always better.
I think the message here is that you'll end up re-encoding them to .dat. In otherwords, you'll have to do what you don't want to do.
If you're taking .DAT files directly from a VCD, there's usually NO NEED TO RE-ENCODE. Just change the extension back to .MPG nad your VCD-cration software will detect it as a VCD-compatible MPEG w/o need for re-encoding. As far as MainConcept's encoding is concerned, its faster encoding has no bearing on output quality. In fact I'd say its output is better and more reliable than the slow-as-molasses TMPGenc.
it s better, slow encoding is alot better, well atleast with mpeg4/2 so i guess is the same with 1. :smt014
He's saying that MainConcept is faster than TMPEG and that this has no noticeable affect on the output. He amy be right, I've not tried MainConcept. Obviously if the same program has faster and slower settings, the slower ones had best come out looking better.
Correct and correct. Evangelion, whle I'm sure you're all enamoured with TMPGenc considering your fanboysih stance on it, give MainConcept a shot. There is no quality degradation becauseof the speed, and it'll save you a lot of time, as much as you may love TMPGenc.
oh well, i guess i'll give it a try, can you like make vcds out of 15fps .avi? because with nero i cant and with tmpenc thing i can :S
