    There are tons of publically available tools for "getting into someones machine". It's not the ninja terrorist shit that Fox News makes it out to be, it mostly involves finding an open door you can use to get inside. I've used to collect forum databases as a hobby back in 2004 or so, and what I did back then is 1000x easier today due to more online resources, documentation, premade scripts, premade wordlists, sites that allow you to look up hashes directly, etc etc....

    Anonymous mostly consists of bored teenagers who run a tool called LOIC to take sites by overloading them. There are a few bright guys there, but given the behaviour of Gman in the past, I doubt he is one of those.

    Getting the cops on your tail ain't pretty hard either - your location can be easily identified by things such as pictures you upload (EXIF info can contain name and geolocation).

    There ain't any "hackers on steroids" bullshit.

    @DruidII

    Damn ! That is more worse than I thought it would be ! Since I upload a profile picture (which is me in the picture) So I guess I fucked If I do something stupid (which I doubt) So that case, all the evidence stays on the internet forever ? I heard a few similar theory about facebook collecting personal information and also If you delete a comment, post or picture which will disappear from profile but never truly gone.... which is still on facebook system in Headquarter, am I correct ?

    Anyway, I should start pay more attention on Internet stuff.

    Thank you for telling me this.

    I remember that thread, not sure if it's been deleted though.

    For those of you thinking we're all unfairly ganging up on Gman, in the thread involving itchy and Gman most users were on Gman's side and accused itchy of lying and not knowing what he was talking about. Of course this was back when Gman wasn't as notorious as he is now, so hindsight 20/20. itchy's change of tone (from "Gman wronged from me! That lying faggot!" to "oh wait no I was wrong nothing happened forget I mentioned anything...") should have raised quite a few red flags about what was going on behind the scenes. It's not the first time it's happened either.

    As for banning him, I think we're past that point. He's already here so we might as well let this be his one final chance. But from this point forward, if we allow banned members to openly come back it's sets a bad precedent for the entire site and will inevitably raise the question "If person X came back, why can't person Y? Person Y was banned for a much less severe reason."

    It's not like they're going to keep trying to come back forever. They'll get bored eventually and find somewhere else to go. They might try again in a few months or even years but they can only get banned so many times until they realize it's not worth the battle. And if they behave under a new alias, then we'll be none the wiser and it won't really matter.

    Majority rule don't work in mental institutions...
    That's why we have mods and admins to determine what is best for us.
    Awkward when they don't all agree with each other though... :biggrin-new:

    Just quoting this to say that if we did that, then it'd be almost the same as banning him. Who in their right mind wants to use an account with SCAMMER all over it when he can just make a new alias?

    Just ban him, and get it over with. There will be the few that oppose, but quite frankly it should be so. The rules state that you will be banned for stepping outside the rules, and judging by what I've seen/heard and what I don't know about (homepage...? people's jobs...?) it's clear he's way out of line.

    I know of a situation I had to deal with AFK- someone had been caught stealing something from somewhere (keeping it vague for a reason). It was petty theft, a very small amount and said person had been involved with said business for 3+ years; however the rules stated that anyone caught would be dealt with regarding a zero-tolerance rule. Needless to say, said person can't return.

    Solid rules are imperative to the functionality and the structure of this site. Should he be given a second chance (keep the gman account, with or without labels) then it will only be an exception someone in the future can use. Sure, he can come back under an alias, but at least the site stays true to the rules and bans his account. You basically cannot ban a person.
