I've always liked the look of retail console kiosks, and how they are remniscent of arcade machines. I'd love to get one but they are hard to find and like oldschool arcade cabs, take up more space than I can justify in my apartment. I've seen some really cool custom builds of bartop arcade machines. I'm toying with the idea of looking into making a small bartop style console kiosk, maybe 24 inches tall with a small CRT tv, a plexiglass window so you can see whatever console is inside it, and some kind of controller holder along the lines of what retail console kiosks tended to have. I started to research this concept for inspiration but didn't really see anything out there, other than bartop arcade machines with arcade stick style controls, containing a console, but deliberately hiding it away for the arcade machine look. Has anyone ever heard of someone doing this before? I'd like to look at designs to better evaluate what I might want to do.
